Large city park centrally located, next to Salem Hospital and some main streets. But it's quiet and peaceful once you get within the park. Wonderful walking and running trails, lovely rose garden, old oak trees, and the Bush house museum and gardens add to the usual mix of picnic tables and playgrounds. The Salem Art Fair is held here each July. Wonderful setting for one of the country's best art fairs. Beware of aggressive owls at night defending their nests!

This park is centrally located. You can play tennis, run the track at the football stadium or the soft the soft track around the park, play baseball or play at the park or just enjoy picnic. They have soap box derby's and many other actives at the park. Great trails to walk or run.

Lovely grounds, a variety of paths and convient location make this a favorite of mine. In the summer, I like to ride my bike around the whole park and watch all the soccer and baseball games.

This is a great park that's used nearly 365. People are running, walking, strolling and picking routes tailored to their fitness. It's a big park with lots of variety and even a museum, shop and small art gallery. There are children's play areas, proper trails, fields and stairs. At any time of year, the park is displaying its seasonal beauty.

The park is fun, but it lacks diversity in tree's from other states and countries! No labeling system with the tree's like at the state capital in salem, also the capital has way more diversity in trees from other states and countries, also going south from Portland Oregon on i- 5 to salem Oregon there is a rest stop that has all the state's state tree's even Hawaii!

One of my favorite places to walk with my dog. I love the nature and the scenery, Every summer is the Art Festival a must attend event. All dog lovers enjoy this park there are many trails. I always see squirrels running about and some are friendly and walk up to you. I enjoy the quiet of this park even though it is busy !

This park is one of the jewels of the Salem Parks System. The bathrooms are most of the time clean, the grounds are well maintained and the attraction of the art museum on the campus is an added bonus. It is a great location to take all manner of professional photos as we have seen take place nearly every time we've been there. A word to the wise though, get there mid day or very early if your canine companion enjoys a good chase tooooo much. Joggers, bike riders, skateboarders all share the facilities. Keep you pooch of a short leash because they can sneak up on you. Also a nice treat is a doggie drinking fountain.

This is a great park right in the downtown area of Salem. Nice place to take the kids for a picnic. Let them run and play. And the rose garden is a must see.

We biked there and had a picnic and haven't had time to go back yet. It seemed like a very nice park and many people were enjoying using it.

I love the huge oak trees, watching squirrels, walking on the many paths, watching people play informal soccer or flag football, and the art fair in early July. This huge park includes an amazing array of plants in the greenhouse, a historic home with tours, tennis courts, baseball diamonds, play equipment, creek, soapbox derby hill. I like walking there and discovered a beautiful statue by Fairbanks of parents guiding their child. This seems appropriate in a park where parents and children love to come.

Beautiful rose garden where you can literally "stop and smell the roses". I was in rose heaven. The lovely old Bush home is surrounded by this amazing rose garden as well as many other gardens, paved walking trails, fields for sports and picknicking and is home to more squirrels than I have seen in years. They were fun to observe. I wish I lived nearby so I could enjoy this park on a regular bases. This is a "must see" when visiting Salem. So glad we visited the park.

well groomed trail, soft trail, plenty of space, beautiful scenery. highly recommended. only complaint is that it could be bigger! wish we could find something similar in our neck of the woods.

My family ventured out to this park to take a little afternoon hike. Spent quite some time stomping around in the little creek that passes through it. Great way to spend a warm afternoon.

My hubby and I ventured here to take a run. The kids played on the playground and we took turns running. I was impressed with the beauty!

One of the best parks for running in Salem. The longest trail is 1.5 mile soft surface loop providing a nice view of this beautiful park. Theirs also a hill that's perfect for hill repeats (paved). Salem has many other amazing places to run. Check out www.oregonruns.com for other places to run in the Salem area.
