My husband and I signed up for their glass blowing class. Definitely sign up ahead of time. The time slots fill up fast. This became a three day activity but so worth our time. First day- we got to watch other do their project and signed up for our class. Day two- we did the projects. My husband did the glass ornament and I did the stuffed float. Day three - we picked up our wonderful artwork. The staff was great! We are definitely signing up early next time. There is no fee to coming and shop around or watch others. The cost for both projects was $100.

I absolutely love going to Edge and watching the artists create amazing things! They are all so creative and friendly, and willing to answer questions. I was given a gift certificate to blow my own float here and it was one of the coolest things I've ever done!

It was raining cats and dogs with crazy winds so my son and I decided to blow some glass. I made a small float and my son made a glass bowl. We chatted about chemicals and heat combining to change the colors. Blue and red make brown. So we instead combined blue and green for me. My son combined blue, purple and yellow. We laughed and got some great videos. This is definitely a warm and friendly place.

First off don't call or email and expect them to respond . I called and emailed several times over a three month time frame trying to get information before they finally called me back . The glassblowing its self was ok . I have a better experience at other studios . But my pieces turned out fine . I made arrangements to have my things shipped . And after almost two weeks I called and left a message because they don't answer the phone . And my things finally came a few days later . In looking at the tracking it showed that it shipped a day after I called . How long would it have taken if I wouldn't have called ?? In the future I will pass on this place and go to the other glassblowing studio in Newport where I had a great experience .

We treated my girlfriend's 17 year old granddaughter to a glass blowing session. The instructor was Amanda and she was the best. Very much hands on to the extent possible and Amanda made it very fun. We were all allowed in the work area and took lots of pictures. The granddaughter made a float which turned out beautifully. The cost was very reasonable considering the time that Amanda spent with us. We highly recommend The Edge - it was a very enjoyable experience.

They day before we left to come home to NJ, wife did a filled float. Was able to make reservation and 1 day to cool before we came home. Fun Fun Fun!! Highly recommend!!

My husband and I went glass blowing for the first time. It seemed rather expensive and I think that is why I have not done it in the past, but the truth is I have 2 beautiful pieces of art in my house that I helped create. The customer service was spot on and helpful. I enjoyed myself so much that I am taking my entire family there in August. My husband and I plan on doing bowl plate things this time.

Wanted to try glass blowing while on a girls trip for my birthday. Saw signs for glass blowing in Lincoln City but the shop there was closed Mon-Tues. Googled for a site in Newport and happened upon The Edge. Amanda was running the show that day and she offered to fit us in before the end of her shift so we ran straight over. So glad we found this place! Amanda is a jewel, so funny and engaging. I get the impression the amount of work the student gets to actually do varies greatly among shops and with Amanda we got to handle at least 90 percent of the effort to make our own gorgeous floats. Everything about The Edge was top notch: service, attitude, results...we could not have been happier with our floats (or the other purchases we opted to make at the gallery). The price was very reasonable for the amount of time Amanda spent on our workshop.

On a whim we decided to stop and have a look-see. the array of goods they had available for purchase showed great craftsmanship and the people working there were very friendly. Since the price was affordable and we had time to kill, my girlfriend ended up taking a quick class. The artist who helped her was a very nice guy. Also, for it being my girlfriend's first time blowing glass, I must commend the guy for being very patient as well. The class was very affordable and we really look forward to one day stopping by again.

Surrounded and shaded by trees, the Edge Art Gallery is well worth the time to stop, look, and watch. The "gallery" (re: show/sales area) is an area of well displayed glass art of many forms. One wall of the "gallery" is all windows and looks into the "work" area. When we were there, the owner was teaching a group of 6 young children (ages 8 to 10 ?) how to blow their own art glass. How cool is that! A summer children's class in glass blowing! (Only thing I ever did was VBS at First Baptist.) It was facinating to watch him work with the kids - the care he had for teaching them and the care he had in insuring their safety. I could tell that he placed safety first! Of all the glass art in the gallery, the "decorator floats" are definitely the best! These are glass globes with swirling colors that contain sand and "beach artifacts" (shells, starfish, driftwood, etc.). If you don't see a float that you like, they will gladly blow one for you and send it to you! You can even pick out the beach artifacts you want placed inside the float! Even if you are in a hurry, the few minutes that you will spend stopping at The Edge Art Gallery will enrich your time and life. But beware if you are in a hurry . . . you can start watching the glass blowing process in the "shop" and find that time flies!

I stopped in and had never seen glass blowing before. The employees were friendly and informative. The young man who was working was explaining the process and made a lovely vase. If i am in Newport again it will be on my list of things to do.
