Our group of 50 just had an amazing winter time camp out and adventure. Zip lining, paint balling, rope challenge and camping. Camp Dakota's facility, host and guides were all that we could of asked for. The experience was awesome and we didn't hesitate to reserve our spot for next year. What a blast.

Just got back from 3 days at Camp Dakota, and we are all still talking about how much fun we had. Found this place by accident on Facebook and decided to take the family. (4 kids, ages 23, 22, 18 and 17.) We rented a 30 ft yurt, a new experience for us, and we loved it. Kids referred to it as glamping (glamorous camping). I bought the "activity package" and we participated in most of the activities there. We spend a lot of time on the paint ball course. We all climbed (ok, tried to climb) the rock wall, we played disk golf, and learned to throw tomahawks. The brave ones among us did the high rope challenge, and we all hit the zip line - even this old gal! I really wanted to back out, but our guides Taz and Crash were so supportive and helped me go for it...so glad I did because it was awesome! We found all of the staff to be very competent, professional, friendly and helpful. A special shout out and thank you to Hurricane, Greenhorn, Chewy, Crash, Grinder and Youngblood for putting up with us and making out time there so much fun! We also did the "usual" camping stuff as well - bonfire, cook out, horse shoes, volleyball....it's all there too! There are activities for all ages. This place is very clean, well run and reasonably affordable. Kids all commented on how "not disgusting" the port-a-potties were, we saw people cleaning them every day. So glad we found Camp Dakota and we are already planning our trip back!

The employees at the main desk were very friendly, but some of the staff who was in charge of the zip line had very poor attitudes! I don't know the names, but I'm sure the main staff is aware... They complained the whole time during the zip line experience. As far as the zip line, it was ok.... We only did the 3 lines, as they have other options, but with the staff attitudes, we just got out of there pretty quickly. All in all, it was an ok experience...but wouldn't go back...NOTE: I know it's a campsite, but the restrooms were absolutely terrible!!!!

We had heard of Camp Dakota from friends, something to try out. We spent the weekend doing various activities. Zip lines, metal detecting, Gold panning and Paintball. All new activities for some of us. The staff was helpful and professional in their instructions and actions. The whole family had a great time, and are already thinking of going again. Only a couple of minor issues from inconsiderate campers that the staff could not really control

Had the groupon, did the high ropes course + 3-line zipline + tomahawk throwing. The groupon stated 4 activities:Choose Two Activities from the Following:•Zipline tour•Trip through the high-ropes challenge course•One hour on the rock-climbing wallChoose Two Activities from the Following:•18 holes of disc golf with lesson and disc rental•Low-ropes course•Balance walks•Balance walks with cables•Tomahawk throwing•Problem-solving games•Icebreaker games•River crossing•Puzzle games•Balance games•Radioactive-isotope game•Paintball We ended up only getting 3 activities. Partly our fault as we came on a cold rainy day. But the choices available to us from the second group were only the low ropes course and tomahawk throwing. I would have never bet on us choosing tomahawk throwing, but after seeing the low ropes course, there was no way we were going to do it. We felt we had to do the tomahawk to at least get the value of our visit. On their website it shows a $45 charge for 3-line zip + high ropes + rock wall. i think this would be a MUCH better value especially since it is the same amount of money as the groupon. So how was it?We had a blast. It was cold (40s) and rainy. I was visiting friends in Oregon and could not reschedule, so we made the best of it.Started on the high ropes course. As a not petite almost 50 year old woman, it was VERY scary. But our staff was awesome. She (Laurie?) talked me through it and in the end the reward of finishing it was more than worth the fear. Then we did the zipline. I agree with other posters that trying to get an upsale to the higher longer course is probably costing the camp money and goodwill. It was offered to us, and never pressured on us but would have been nice to be able to zip over some nice scenery. Fun because of our staff and our good nature but disappointing course.Next was the low ropes course. NOT! Stand facing your partner and slowly walk along 2 cables that get farther and farther apart until you are holding each other up. Perhaps if we were teenagers this would have seemed appropriate. But as i am on vacation, I had no desire to end up damaged. So we did the tomahawk throwing. We made it fun and our staff again helped it not be too disappointing, but not really worth the time.Overall, Felix and Laurie(?) were awesome. Fun time even though they were obviously cold and would have preferred to be somewhere warm. I cannot say enough good things about them or their attitude. But would I recommend it? Perhaps for the right group of people on the right day with the right expectations but otherwise, probably not.Do I regret going? NO, it was a fun day with a great friend.Would I go again? Not likely

I took my young son and his friends there for paintball. Most of use were new to the game, but the staff did a great job of making our first experience a great one. They were all very patient and helpful. I thought the prices were very reasonable, too. It's a bit of a drive, but I'll make the trip again soon.

I love staying in their yurts. They have mattress beds, a wood-stove and electricity. The table inside and the deluxe BBQ on the deck complete the package. Reserve well ahead though. The 20' yurt is great for 2-3 people. The 30' yurt is huge and good for a larger group but can be hard to keep warm in cold weather, even with the wood-stove.

WE went up just for a day and watched all the fun. Paint ball seemed to be the winner of the day for the activity for the kids. Nice clean place up in the woods, off the main road. Nicely kept up

We go there several times a year. They are always adding new activities. I would highly recommend Camp Dakota to anyone. Paint ball, zip lines, camping, digging for gold, hunting for treasure, rock wall, challenge corse, Frisbee golf and more. oh and did I mention will deliver later to your campsite. BEST PLACE EVER

We stayed in a yurt and LOVED IT. Had a great time, great accomodations (for camping), kids loved panning for gold and gems, paint balling, disc golf, etc. The ONLY thing that would be better is if they had real bathrooms (instead of porta-potties) AND if the showers were free (they cost $0.25/minute). We plan on going again next year

My 10 year old daughter has been bugging me for 2 years to take her zip lining. I found this place on the internet and signed up to be on their email list. They sent me a 50% off zip lining special a few weeks later so decided this would be a good time to try it out. My only 2 complaints about this place was the drive to get there and the lack of clearly marked parking. It is a campground and there doesn't seem to be a lot of other places for people to park who are only coming for the day. The check in was simple...staff were friendly and professional. The zip line staff were well trained and appropriately cautious with safety procedures. The first zip line run was pretty basic, but after that the staff tried to get us to experiment a little...like stepping off the platform backwards or from the side to get more a of a swinging motion. Since zip lining itself is a little outside my comfort zone, I wasn't very adventurous in that respect, but my daughter had some fun with it. There are a lot of other activities there that look like fun and the more advanced zip lining looks like fun as well. For someone like me who has never done it before, this is a nice easy going way to learn before spending a bunch of money down in Mexico to do an all day zip line tour. I could see this being a great place for a family reunion or group campout. Especially for people who don't necessarily have the equipment to camp since there are teepee and yurt rentals as well as the regular RV sites. I think the prices here are very reasonable....definitely will go back again.

Wow! What can I say but we failed to meet your expectations and our goal of providing an excellent experience for all of our guests. We will work harder in the future. The Winslow family and all of our dedicated staff strive to make each guest feel welcome and our goal is create lasting relationships and provide excellent value. Thank you for your input. Took the grandkids and did the zip line, the ropes course and the rock wall. Awesome time by all. Great staff, great equipment, and they don't laugh at you too much! The high ropes course is very high and not for just everyone. They also have gold panning and RC cars and CAMPING.
