A great place to visit for families with lots of information and good trails around the preserve. Staff also very helpful regarding local bird watching 'hotspots'.

As a birder I was very impressed with what they are doing at Jackson bottom Wetlands. The paths are close enough to many areas of water so you can get up close views of the birds. There is a very nice visitors center with lots of information and they offer a large number of educational classes and events. This is a must see for anyone wanting to see lots of waterfowl.

I've enjoyed hiking here for a long time. Used to go with my daughter and a sack lunch when she was younger. Lots of birds and Nutria.

lots of birds and paths to explore. Ponds to see frogs and fish to see. There is a building to look and touch things in.

I take out of town visitors here to see birds in every season. The trails are very well maintained and the explanatory labels on the plants are fun to read. There are marshes, a small lake, forested areas. The last time I was there we saw several "rare" to the area birds including Sandhill Cranes which typically one doesn't see in Washington County in the summer. The visitor center is superb and there are many ranger led programs. It's great for a leisurely walk with binoculars. No dogs. Take some water with you if you are out in the summer. Real gem close to Portland

Avoid this location in the spring to early summer if you have allergies to pollen. The place is great for people who want to go nature watching. Don't bring your stupid dogs as dogs will chase and harass other animals, as well as dump all over the place where people step. I'd also avoid bringing children for the same reason as the dogs, except most kids don't dump all over the paths. No smoking please: the smoking lamp is out.

We have only been there is the spring but so fun. Lots of birds and their babies. You an just spend half an hour or half a day here. We might take a lunch next time. The longer you stay the more chance you have of seeing something interesting.

I used to bring my kids here often and look forward to bringing my grandson when he is a bit older. The bald eagle nest is really impressive. The staff are all friendly and very good with children.

I used to live not far from here, one day I decided to stop n walk around. It's nice in the spring or fall on a dry day to see all the flora n fauna. A nice place to get some peace and enjoy the sounds of nature. Unless you are a wetlands or bird person, I think only locals would come here to walk around as its not really an "attraction" in the traditional sense. Enjoy!

We have been coming here for years and it just keeps getting better! In June we visited to try out the new Bobcat trail that goes from the visitor center to the viewing deck on the north end of the wetlands (south end of town). It's a great trail and we saw many birds and even more wildflowers! There was also an Osprey nest with chicks! Many miles of other trails as well. The visitor center is great for school age kids and older. Check out their website for complete info!

The broad area of coverage (lots of real estate) allows for solitude, even more so on a wet day. I was there during a corporate volunteer clean-up, but it was still enjoyable eve nthough i was "sort-of working".

depending on what time of year and what time of day this is a great spot for bird watching. there is a resident bald eagle couple in one far corner which i've seen more than once although didn't see it on this trip. there are a number of blinds which allow you to take photos without disturbing the birds. again, depending on what time of year and what time of day it really is a cool place to visit.

I live very close so it's really convenient for me to jump in my car with a camera and binoculars and head on over. It's free and if the weather is nice it's a great place to spend an hour or two hiking around and bird watching. I've seen snakes too which is always fun. Their info center is also great when open.

We enjoyed a stroll around and caught glimpses of a few unusual birds on a very pretty day. Convenient and easy to find, would also use bug repellant on next visit. Overall it was worth the stop and we would surely return if nearby and looking to get out for a stretch.
