Took a trip to heritage farms the other weekend with my sister and nephew. They keep it simple with a few activities for you to do but it was SO much fun. There is a "petting zoo", (which consists of very friendly and adorable goats and pigs); a small hay maze for small children and a larger maze for children. The second maze has a tarp over the entire thing to keep the hay dry from rain. Its VERY dark inside and they give you flash lights to carry to find your way around, the ceiling is about 4 feet tall so we had to duck the entire way...it was worth it though, we had a blast and couldnt find our way out for a good while. They also have a tractor hay ride which takes you around the outside of the farm..there was a tour guide on who was telling us information, however we were sitting closest to the tractor and only heard him say something about an alligator...? There is an apple catapult thing where you hurl apples and try to hit the targets to win prizes. They have face painting, a giant apple bounce house, food, AMAZING apple cider, and shop to buy miscellaneous goodies from, (we bought caramel corn, different types of apples, cider and honey sticks!) Altogether it cost us $2 to catapult 5 apples, and $5 for the three of us to go unlimited times in the maze, tractor and face paint. The only down point was that when we tried telling the parking attendant about a family stealing apples and putting them in their car she snapped at us and said she didnt care....All in all it was an awesome trip and we will definitely be making it an annual one. :)
