My family and I always stay at Timberline Lodge at least once during our visits to Oregon! Great amenities and activities, very attentive staff and the rooms are so cozy!

New Years Day on the mountain. This is a wonderful location for outdoor family fun. Grab a sled or ski/snowboarding gear or rent it there. Stay for the day or overnight (with reservations) and plenty of dining options. 360 views are amazing so bring your camera. This historic lodge is a wonder to behold. It is hard to believe that this structure was built where it is in 1937! Must be seen and experienced.

Went up to the lodge to enjoy New Years Eve. You Need a reservation to get into the lodge. Either a room reservation or dinner reservation(or know the room of friends with a reservation). Good music and dancing and dinner in the bar if you haven't made dinner reservations. Just a fun time in a beautiful building.

ski and ski out was perfect and the location was great. They could use some assistance with snow removal when vehicles rae departing so they don't get stuck.

This is a must see if you are on Mt. Hood. The entire lodge is a wonder of rustic construction on a grand scale. The fireplace and huge beams make you wonder how they did this in such a beautiful and impressive way. Sit by the fire in the main hall and relax. It is a place you will not soon forget.

Built in the 1930's by hand. Everything is historic and it will impress you. A must see in the Pacific Northwest. Get the room with a fireplace. Expensive but well worth it.

Even if you don't ski, the lodge is well worth a visit (also we had to watch the beginning of 'The Shining" and sure enough, it is the overhead view of the Timberline! This lodge has so much hand carved wood it boogles the mind. The drapes and furnishings are from the 1920's and 30's, words don't do it justice. We took about 50 pictures, want to be able to remember it forever!

We didn't stay at this lodge (though I would like to sometime!). We were told this was a must-see during our trip to Portland and we were glad we took the time! The temperature dropped about 20 degrees by the time we got to the lodge and it was actually snowing when we arrived! The weather didn't make for much of a view but we still enjoyed a wonderful buffet lunch and touring the lodge, which was built during the 1930's as part of the W.P.A. The craftmanship of the lodge is really interesting and you can imagine sitting in front of one of the cozy fireplaces after spending a day skiing. As previously mentioned, we had the buffet lunch which was outstanding! We were very glad we took the time to visit Timberline Lodge during our stay!

Timberline Lodge is a mountain lodge on the south side of Mount Hood in Oregon. Mt. Hood's elevation is 11,245 feet. The "Timberline Lodge" is located at 6,000 feet. We enjoyed the authenticity. To this day the lodge still retains the original open timber ceiling beams, and rustic, and quaint appearance; with several very large wood fireplaces. It is most certainly, a very remote, quiet, and a romantic lodge! Perfect for honeymooners, anniversaries, or just a great place to spend time with your significant other! I've always enjoyed the mountains, and this lodge is located 1/2 way up Mt. Hood. The previous year I was camped in a tent, in the snow at this summits elevation (over 12,000 ft.) on Mt. Rainier, and the year before that camped at Mirror Lake; at 12,000 ft. on Mt. Whitney, CA. Timberline Lodge certainly affords you luxurious amenities; yet they are available high on a mountain; at 6,000 ft.!

the lodge is lovely. a maze of nooks and crannies. carved wood animals at the ends of the banisters and so many other places. when we were there there was work being done at the front entrance so we had to go in an alternate side door on the bottom level and work our way to the main area. fortunately, there were plenty of people around to ask directions, otherwise we'd still trying to find our way out.on one of the levels, there were expensive picture windows with dramatic views of mt rainier in the distance and another up close and personal of mt hood.the woodwork was truly stunning. everywhere you looked there was an eye-catching touch to humble woodwork.outside in the parking lot area, before you come in or when you leave you can see forever, across so many ranges. the air is crisp and clear and clean.a must-visit.

After a beautiful drive to get to Mount Hood, we came upon the Lodge perched on the side of the mountain. Upon entering the Lodge, we were amazed at the beautiful craftsmanship throughout. We were even more impressed when we watched the video that tells the story of the Lodge's construction. It was fun just to walk around and look at the woodwork and ironwork that gives the Lodge its special appeal.

23 of us had a reservation booked way in advance for a farm family style dinner on the terrace looking at Mount Jefferson. It was a 90 + day in Portland area, but up here was pleasantly cool while we dined on the terrace in the warm sun. We did not stay in the lodge but would very much like to come back. Neat to walk up to the snow line on the slopes of Mount Hood!

Friends took me here on my first visit to Portland and I'm SO glad they did! What a beautiful, beautiful building and such history. It is well worthwhile stopping to watch the short video of the history of the building and to walk the building to admire the remarkable iron work and fine wood crafting. It is hard to believe that this was built in the 1930's. It is also hard to believe the height of the winter snowfall marks! We were there on a gorgeous sunny day and the views from the upper balcony were breathtaking!

The construction of the Great Room, the staircases, and the original furniture was fabulous. We like the sense of visiting a time long gone by, by preserved and made even more beautiful. Comfortable room, pool, sauna, hot tub, meals.
