Easy access to the trail head and a lot of parking. There is a well defined trail. I would rate the rail easy on a clear day, moderate in ice and snow. A variety of views of the DesChutes River.

If you like hiking then take the dirt path off of Circle 7 in Sunriver. Beautiful scenery along the river the closer you get to Benham Falls. If you bike then you do need a good bike since there are many rocks once you pass the rafting take out area. If you want to stay on pavement then ride or walk the new path. It will take you right down to the bridge over the river. That or you can connect to the path that takes you up to Lava Butte. Just a great area no matter what time of year. Late summer will provide you more water in the river since they release irrigation water from Wickiup. This is called a falls but it is more rapids where only the real professionals run it. Great views are to be had.

Two path options make this a fun trail! Stay to the right on the paved trail for an easy scenic ride or for the more adventurous rider hit the offroad trail to the left. Make sure you have good tires & a helmet, it's a workout but so worth riding along the river's edge!

This is a nice trail along the river. The trail is easy to navigate and mostly flat, with a few ups and downs. Nothing too strenuous. It is always gorgeous, we were there in the fall, with all the glorious fall colors. Spring and Summer are grand too. The Deschutes River makes it own beauty, whatever time you go.

The trail to Benham Falls is an easy, wide path with lots of forested scenery along the way. It's shared by both walkers and bike riders, so you have to keep a lookout for others, but it's very well-traveled and mostly smooth going all the way. I walked it, and I'll admit that certain portions looked a bit dicey for little kids on bikes as it got a bit rutted and even a little steep for the little ones, but for adult walkers it's an easy outing. The views of the river, the forest, and the falls definitely make it worth the trip.

The "hike" is a leisurely stroll, filled with some of the most breath taking scenery. The entire surround looks like it has been photo shopped. In early October, with the leaves changing color, the river flowing steady and the back ground of the lava fields, every photograph is like a piece of art. Great for people of all fitness levels, it is our favorite pass time when we head to Central Oregon in the Bend area. Parking is near by an there is no entrance fee.

Popular attraction in Sunriver, OR and a must see. Beautiful trail along the river with views of lava banks, river, rapids and then the falls. This trail is dirt, but connected to Lava Lands Visitor Center and Sunriver by a new, paved bike and walk path. Wheelchair access down the trail to falls may be possible. It is a little steep, not paved, but wide. Highly recommend this.

Easy to find and easy walking on a well maintained wide trail, the falls are breathtaking, I had the opportunity to witness three adventuresome kayakers go down the fall, what a ride, not for everyone, thrill seekers only. Beautiful hike lovely scenery

Excellent bike ride from Sunriver with the kids to great vantage point of the falls. Paved road and dirt road for the offroaders!!

This is an essentially flat hiking or biking path from Circle 7 of Sunriver Resort to Benham Falls. Less than 100 yards north of Circle 7, there is a small parking lot next to the entrance to the newly paved path to Benham Falls. After approximately 2 miles on the path, you cross the Deschutes River by means of a very well constructed bridge. You are still about one mile from Benham Falls. This is where the mosquitos really hit us and the others on the trail. This path through Deschutes National Forest is suitable for the very young on up to seniors, but bring bug spray.

Sunriver put in a bike path all the way to benham falls, it's a great ride loved it! Highly recommend easy for our 10 year old! The falls are a site to see too.

The scenery and fellow travelers were a plus. The path includes pretty flat paths for handicapped, some steep ones for a better view of the river, and bike side trails.

Finding the trail head was more difficult than anticipated, I would recommend making sure you have exact direction and not depend only on a map as some of the roads do not connect as shown on maps. The hike to the falls takes about 30 minutes or so from the parking area and is very easy, many mountain bikers were riding the trail as most of it is passable with a bike. The falls are beautiful and very picturesque. We had a group of eleven from young kids 7 years old to Grandma in her 70's and all were able to hike the trail with no issues.

The community paved the path from Sunriver to Benham Falls - every smooth and scenic. Great for people of all ages and abilities. Great views of the falls.

This was a great way to spend the day. We started out at the Village in Sunriver and road on paved paths all the way to the trail head. Then on the dirt trail out out to the falls (white water) it was beautiful. Then we continued on to the Meadow where there was a picnic area. It was about 20 miles round trip. A very easy ride and great scenery to look at.
