Grand Lake is a great place to live or visit! My family has been coming to Grand Lake since I was a baby. Let's just say that's over 50 years! My husband and I are now lucky enough to own a house on the lake so we have a place to get away from the busy life!

This is just a beautiful treasure in Oklahoma. We live near Lake Ouachita in Arkansas and this if the only lake in Northeast Oklahoma that compares to it's beauty. Hope to return in the future.

We are here in the "off" season. All people we have met are so friendly and helpful. Visited many antique shops today. What a joy to see the greeting of the local people. Wife and I know this is a place for water fun but it is much too cold to enjoy this part. We will most likely return in the next year during more favorable weather. We are in our RV at Cedar Oaks RV park right on the water. Again the staff is a joy!

We visited in October on an extended weekend getaway. Although it was too cold to enjoy activities on / in the water, we thoroughly enjoyed the scenery & found the area offered so much to see!

They call Grand Lake the 'Rich Man's Lake' - but it has something for everyone! Restaurants, casinos, shopping and of course boating, swimming and fishing. That's why so many people choose to retire at Grove. It has everything you could need and is a short drive to Joplin and/or Tulsa. In about two weeks, the pelicans will return for their annual visit. It's the perfect opportunity to get your camera out and get some great shots!

Being from the area, I think Grand Lake has more to offer than any place I have ever visited, great boating, fishing, or just Chilacking. There are many great resorts and motels to choose from to stay, from the very expensive to the camping grounds. There are may lakes and other places to visit as well in the nearby.

Took the entire family (kids and grandkids) for a long weekend. Stayed at the Paradise Cove Resort. Rented a 3 bedroom 2 bath house. Was very nice. A little hard to find-off the beaten path, but had a great time. House was very nice and well kept. Rented a boat for skiing and fishing. The grandkids loved it.

Very entertaining large lake. 62 miles long, and greater than 1300 miles of shoreline. Multiple coves, beautiful homes. You can boat to your choice of restaurants.

Terrific area. Well maintained. Recommend the 4th of July fireworks display it was beautiful. The lake was afloat with every size of watercraft you can imagine

This lake is very similar to the Ozark Lakes of Missouri because it is probably part of the same system of rivers and Lakes. If you are closer in proximity to Grand Lake then you should give it a try. There are several excellent resorts on the lake and some extremely well kept golf courses. We visited a small bar with a large outdoor seating area and live music. The bar was a lot of fun and a great place to have a good time. I would recommend checking it out!

The lake is a very large, but peaceful, quiet body of water. Since it is so large, you can have as little interaction with others as you like. I always enjoy the extra curricular activities offered.

A well kept 9 hole golf course. It looks easy however, you may have changed your mind after the round. Just below the dam in Langley it also provides some great scenery if your game is going South. Grand Cherokee Golf Course. It is a reasonably short yardage course.

I'm from Oklahoma. It has been about 35 years since I was in the Grand Lake area but of all the visits I had made and some being in the fall of the year, I never knew pelicans migrated through the area.I enjoyed seeing all the migratory birds in the area. We got some good shots from the Bernice State Park lake shore. The following day we drove around the north side of the lake The weather was cool but nice. There was some fall foliage to see but the birds were the "wow" factor for me. Pelicans you expect around the ocean not northeast Oklahoma. Can't wait to go back again and I can promise it won't be another 35 years.

Grand Lake is simply gorgeous. It has 1,300 miles of shoreline so it is a very big lake. We toured the lake aboard the Cherokee Queen and it was a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. While staying at Monkey Island we often had great views of the lake as we drove around the area. It is supposed to be one of the top bass fishing lakes in the country but even without fishing we had a great time just taking in the beautiful views.

Very nice folks--right in Langley by Reasor's grocery store. Will let you trailer a waverunnrer (they provide the trailer). Good equipment but be sure to deal with Keith, the owner. Had a misunderstanding how long the rental of a waverunner was--it malfunctioned and we called but somehow they interpreted that we first had called to keep it longer (now why would we do that?!). After it began working again, THEN we asked to keep it (after losing four hours of our rental that morning. They charged us an for an extra 24 hours of rental ($352 with tax and fees) but cut that back $150 when I protested. My impression from one of their staff had been that we could keep it longer without charge. Beware if the mechanic says he'll come out to help with malfunctioning equipment...it's probably not going to happen--have you heard of a "round to-it" in Oklahoma (I'm from there so I can say it)?! Try them--they were new in May 2013. They rent pontoons and now four-wheelers also. Just be very clear about your (and their) expectations!
