One word, "elderberry." It's in everything! They claim it's the cure all which is why they drink so much of their own wine. It's so far out there on the country. Once you're there you feel obligated to stay. We walked in on another groupon crowd of 4 women who looked at us like it was a trap. They are so friendly & sweet. So much so that I feel horrible for putting down their life's work. It may be an acquired taste, but the wine is the worst. By the time we were done pity tasting about 18 different wines we were careless enough to purchase his prized pecan port. The next day we tried it, again. Wow. What a difference a stone sober decision makes. It's so bad we use it as a joke on family members who immediately regret our buying decisions too. The best experience of the day was the time I spent with my husband. It was a carefree day of laughs on our long ride home.

I purchased a wine and cheese tasting for two online. I got my wife in the car with no idea where we were going. After a leisurely drive down several gravel roads, we arrived at Nuyaka Creek Winery. The owners met us and led us to the tasting room. We were presented with a wine list and the pouring began. The owners are very friendly and gracious. Pete is a former Gallo Brothers employee. They are not pretentious at all. We felt very comfortable and intend to visit again often. I personally don't drink but found the Peach Mist, Muscodine and Merlot to be very good. The Pecan Pie and Elderberry fortified wines are a must buy! If you're a self impressed wine snob, do everyone a favor and stay home. However, if you enjoy supporting good, local people that are passionate about their craft, by all means visit Nuyaka Creek Winery.

It's an Oklahoma winery...but I was VERY impressed with this wine-maker's palate. He had created a liquor that is butter pecan...so good. They're friendly and accommodating. My daughter and I went and enjoyed the wines and sweet couple that entertained us as well as a group of other ladies partaking in the wine-tasting.

If you go with Hugh expectations, you'll leave disappointed. If you go after visiting some moreesalished wineries, some of which are not all that far from Tulsa, and expect that at this winery, you'll be disappointed. If you're looking for a high tech, high volume winery, you'll again be disappointed. But, if you're looking for a simple adventure, not so far from Tulsa; looking for some nice, local wines to experience; looking for some interesting, tasty, sweet fruit wines; just looking for a new adventure; and just looking for some nice folks to spend thirty minutes with sampling their wines, you'll leave satisfied. I'm no wine connoisseur; I only know what I like. For me, most of the wines were a bit too sweet. But interesting, and different. The owners were very nice and friendly. Yes, it is rather "mom and pop," but that also has a certain charm. I don't know that I'd visit again (mainly because of the roads and its very, very rural location)' but then again there's many things I've done and enjoyed, but probably won't repeat. It's well worth at least one visit.

Not only are the wine awesome so are the owners. Really enjoyed talking with them. They have some of the best wines I've ever tasted. I will be going back!

We decided to take a lazy Saturday drive and check out a winery. We followed the GPS into the worse drive ever! This place is hidden on the back of dirt and gravel roads that looked as if we were traveling backward from civilization.Once we found it, there was a yard, a house, and a small building in the back with a sign letting us know we were at the right place. A friendly mature couple emerged from the house to greet us; escorting us to the building. We were the only customers so far that morning.The gentleman was very knowledgeable about the wine since he created the flavors which ranged from blueberry to pecan! The prices ranged between $10-$20. This place is nothing fancy, but the kindness of the owners made the down-home type experience a relaxed one. I probably will not travel there again unless I'm ready to do touch up paint on my car from the gravel road chips! Otherwise, if that's not a concern of yours, you may like the unique wines.

the tour of the wine making operation is outstanding

It's a long some what scenic drive from Tulsa. It's easy to get lost or discouraged getting there and once I was there I thought - really, this is it?? It's very Mom & Pop. They are a very sweet older couple that have been making wine for several decades. The lighter, sweet wines and their Elderberry Wine are really their forte. I am a red wine drinker and did not like what I tasted at all from their selection. The best was the Cabernet Sauvignon, so I bought a bottle of it along with a bottle of Peach Mist and their Petite Pecan. The Peach Mist was marvelous and I'm looking forward to the Petite Pecan. The Cab-Sauv however, was not worth drinking. It was a murky reddish brown, tasted vinegary and from the bottom of a barrel. I called and spoke to the woman about my experience very politely. She seemed to become offended and said that Cabernet Sauvignon isn't suppose to be sweet. I explained that it is the wine of my choice as a rule and I was aware of it's taste and I thought perhaps there was something wrong with that bottle. She said I would have to cork it up and bring it back and they would "talk to me about it." I don't think so!!!The tour consisted of pointing to the vines out in the fields behind the house.

We went to Nuyaka Creek Winery for their Mayfest, expecting a nice homey, backwoodsy, yet comfortable atmosphere with quality wines. Sadly, we drove a long way to be disappointed. The atmosphere was unkempt and we liked absolutely none of the wines we tasted from their rather extensive list. Their better wines were reminiscent of Kool-aid and their bad wines were like drinking flavored nail polish remover. The staff knew very little about the operation overall. The "orchards" and "vineyard" were overgrown, hodge-podge, and weedy. The vendors were salespeople, not local craftspeople. We won't be going back and do not recommend the wines or the visit to this winery.
