vermont country store

Took a ride here for something to do. This was a great place to spend some time . So many things past and present to check out. Also samples galore, you can't leave without crackers, cheese or candy! A lot of the items are pricey but these are things you can't find normally. Do put this on your list of things to do, it's a fun place!!!!

so worthwhile !! Adults and kids, and even adults wanting to be kids. Not sure about kids wanting to be adults though unless they really really want to stay, live, grow and breath Vermont - check out the flannel and other Vermont wear ( :> ). The amount of 'old world' kit is amazing with anything for the non-Vermonter to remember their trip to the Green Mountain State. Local food = cheese, beers, etc..., sweets, toys, clothes, kitchenware, etc... Attached is also a pit-stop for snacks, lunch and dinner. We ALWAYS stop by.

a blast from the past...so many items, remember "Charles chips" tangee lipstick and rouge?great products for the simple things in life, tasty Vermont cheeses, we use to call it "penny candy"{that cost does not apply any more} but root beer barrels, etc etc.a great sale annex, many treasures......a fun adventure

This is an amazing store with a vast array of interesting and well made products to explore. There are samples galore and a mail order option as well. I find this to be a great place for browsing and experiencing Vermont in its essence.

We arrived to visit this Vermont Country Store in Weston village VT as it was just a short drive from Ludlow. When we pulled up and parked by a park with a band stand in the center of it. after getting out and walking to the Rte 100 we found not only was there the Vermont Country Store but other stores including a Christmas shop, a cafe and a restaurant but many houses and other business premises as well. It was such a pretty village and after visiting both the Christmas shop and a sweet shop we crossed the Rte 100 and up some steps opened a closed front door to enter the country store. As we entered and closed the door behind us it was like taking a step back in time, and also we realised that this store was huge as it went off left and right and seems to go back for such a long way as well. We found things in that store that we had never seen in our lives, and other things that you would have thought was no longer made any more. We spent so much time tasting different things and trying on different clothing that we thought could no longer be bought? Buying Sweets and biscuits and sweet dips that we could take home and then make up to eat with our maple leaf biscuits. If this store had not been closing we may have spent even more time in there as it was just like taking a step down memory lane? If you get the chance to visit Weston Village and this Vermont Country Stores and the all year round Christmas shop don't hesitate as I guarantee you won't leave again empty handed?Thank you for reading this John & Sue Webb Eastbourne UK

The Vermont country store has something for everyone. Household items, clothing, candy and much more. Bonomos Turkish taffy, Smith Brothers cough drops, Mary Janes, Charles's potato chips. All kinds of cheeses and crackers and a wide selection,of Vermont Maple syrup. Take a break and visit the store for a real treat.

it was the cutest, most authentic country store we've been to. lovely in all sort of ways: the selection of toys, sheets, housewares, foods, candy, coffee, cheese, beauty products is fantastic. even if you manage to walk out without any purchases, you'd still enjoy being taken back in time. they toys alone, and the selection of maple syrup and candy will make you happy. another plus: that have a ramp, with a small gallery of their history and a collection of old scales that I loved. there's also another glass case with a collection of old toasters that my children were fascinated with. for a day with temperatures below 0F it was PERFECT!

The Country Store is filled with useful stuff -- you could spend hours browsing through the aisles. You will find things you remember from your grandmother's house -- products you didn't think were sold anymore, but also tons of gadgets, etc. that you will love. They have so many tasting stations, you won't really need lunch, but save room for the delicious meals next door at the Bryant House!

Lots of hard to find items, and things from my childhood, but you will pay for it! Food samplings through out the store held me over until dinner lol.

This is a nostalgic store with interesting items and exorbitant prices. If you are in the area, it is worth stopping in. You could easily spend an hour or more looking at the all the interesting items for sale.

such a great stop! we had so much fun tasting buying looking ...picking presents for friends and family...This store has everything!!! i subscribed to recieve their catalogues! anytime we go back to Vermont we will stop here..

I had no plans to visit the Vermont Country Store and had no idea it even existed. My husband and I were casually driving through Vermont and came upon the charming town of Weston where the store is located. I am so glad that we found this place. It is the type of quintessential country Vermont charm that we were looking to find.Walking through the front door you feel as if you have gone back in time. We walked right into an old fashioned candy store with barrels and barrels of candies that I had never seen before and some that I thought had gone extinct. Somehow they managed to capture my youth in this small space. Mallow cups, candy buttons, licorice, and home made chocolates. The smell was intoxicating. As we explored a bit more, we found the the store just kept going and going and going. The owners (it is family owned) have managed to merge the modern with the past quite well. They have sectioned off the store for everything from meats and cheeses, gourmet snacks, toys from the past and present, maple syrup, bedding, clothing and much more.I could not believe how big the store was and how many unique gifts and goodies that managed to find and pack into one place. Whoever is doing their buying has done an exceptionally good job.The place is apparently a local attraction and tourist site which explains why is was so crowded. Lines to check out were quite long, but they have even made the experience of waiting in line fun, decorating the aisles with other unique treats. The staff are extremely helpful and I have come to find out that they have gone officially hi-tech with a well run website to allow you to get any of these goodies when you return home.The one thing I would caution on is if you are traveling with children, leave the stroller in the car. The space is tight and it is often crowded. Trying to navigate around with a stroller would be nearly impossible. If you are looking for a quaint, charming piece of Vermont, this is a place you have to see.

Old timely articles for sale. Samples of goodies every where. Great place to spend some fun time. Loved the rocking chair swings outside and the old car and truck.

the Vermont Country store is a must everyone!!!one can spend hours wondering around looking at all the beautiful things this store has to offer. not to mention the delicious samples of cold cut meats cheese and fudge as well as the delicious dips and crackers. You won't regret stopping by

Stopped here on a tour of New England. The store is large with several different rooms full of food, gifts and home ware. I bought maple syrup, chocolates and cheesecake mix's - but beware - the same items were cheaper across the street in another very similar store.
