This place is the real deal when it comes to a Vermont country store. The nuts and bolts are stockpiled on store shelves right next to the animal feeds and just around the corner from the refrigerated cheeses and cold cuts. At the back of the store you can select your favorite wine, mosey over to a pile of work boots, riffle through selected T shirts or get yourself a coffee and the world best fresh baked GIANT chocolate chip cookie. In the center of the store there is a chute that allows you to look down and over a stream which cuts across and under the entire store. This place is my favorite no frills country store that is simply trapped in a time from long ago. But alas, it seems to be struggling to stay in business. Shelves are starting to look bare. Inventory is way down. Maybe if you read this and you are in the vicinty you'll think about stopping for a look and a bit of shopping. There is a great supply of local maple syrup by the jug and as I said the World's Best and Most Giant Chocolate Chip Cookie. The oatmeal raisin cookies are also great. I guarantee you that if you try one of these cookies you'll become a regular at Mach's.

A great general store. A place to get delicious cheese from the wheel. Unfortunately they no longer neatly fold the cheese in paper and wrap in string. They use stickers. You can get great cookies, sandwiches or nuts and bolts. One of my favorite places to stop when in the area. You can get a meal and eat outside.Make sure you go to the back of the store and look down at the river than runs undreneath.
