Mid Winter Festival on City Bay in Lake Champlain. When the ice is hard and cold come and enjoy a speed skating oval, family skating, a group hike across the ice to an Knight's Island, Mountain Bike races on the Ice, and a christmas tree bonfire!

On a cool day of motorcycle riding we stopped in to warm up and had some of their soup. Hamburger- Macaroni. Never heard of it but it hit the spot. They appear to be "the business" in town as they had a little bit of everything including the duct tape we needed. Not expected was that when we needed the restroom, they were port a potties. Seemed out of place for the business.Beautiful building with a deck across the street on the water that many seemed to be enjoying.

There is no complaining about the quality of food at the deli.It is first class. I do however, think that the service could have been better. I believe it was the owners, (husband and wife) behind the counter in a conversation when I placed the order. When it was finished being made the order was out on the counter while they continued their discussion. There was no mention to us that these were our sandwiches or that the our order was ready. At the time, we were the only customers, so there was no case of being overly busy. We will be back and hope to be treated a little better or at least acknowledged.

Very busy sandwich , soup, lunches sit on the outside water deck. Lots of other things to shop for from a-z coffee, soda, wine, sweat shirts, souvenirs. Gas stop both marina and car.

The shop has some cute stuff (if kitschy but hey - you're supposed to be on vacation) and the port-a-potty only bathroom option is not my favorite (they aren't so bad) but the deli counter is awesome. They have a wall with per-determined selections - each with a cute name and a story (The Norman Rockwell is something I find myself dreaming about - and have to admit I've replicated at home with some success but not a replacement for the real thing). Hardly somewhere you'd go out of your way to visit but if you are in the area well worth stopping in - and they are very friendly too.

Great deli for lunch and baked goods for breakfast but high $$ for a sammy. You're better off getting one from A&B if you're in that area, a LOT cheaper and just as delish!

Leave lots of extra time for the line. The sandwiches were fantastic, worth the wait. There is a great patio across the street if you stay to eat there.

Grab a sandwich for lunch by boat, by car or by bike. We stopped in on a Monday at 1. Packed. Placed our order quickly and perused the two buildings of retail items. Very interesting store with apparel tourist items, and stuff for us locals. Great place for Xmas items. Oh yea and the sandwiches are awesome. Try the Ethan Allen, roast beef with horseradish on fresh bread. Def worth the wait!

A Vermont version of a general store combined with a boat store and a Pier One. And you can get wine and gas here. Great sandwich shop too! Boat launch, dock, gas.

During our stay on North Hero we would get sandwiches for lunch from Hero's Welcome. They were delicious and there was a large variety to choose from - including vegetarian options. The store itself has some unique souvenirs and candy.

Such a cute general store--lots of stuff and well maintained. Sandwiches were quite good, too. We were able to snag one of their picnic tables across the street and enjoyed our lunch outside!

Out in front of this general store are benches: the red one is labeled Republican and the blue one is labeled Democrat. I won't mention the name on the green Adirondack chair in the middle but for the sake of labeling, I will call it the Independent chair. Keep an open mind and meet and greet someone on either bench/chair. Lots of customers enjoy their snack here while looking out across the road and to the lake or watching customers pump their gas. Some customers eat across the road on the picnic tables - someone else will have to share if there is any politicizing of those :-)

Its the best little store in the world, so quaint, you feel so vermonty while youre there.we went for breakfast and lunch almost every day, coffee was great, lots of little do dads and t shirts and really anything you might need. The only "bad" thing is that they close kinda early, about 8. its an awesome place.

Great sandwiches, good wine selection, overpriced but nice selection of porcelain and teeshirts as well as kitched items

Remembered from a previous trip, we stopped here for a lateish breakfast after leaving Burlington and driving up the Lake Champlain Islands. Great baked goods. We all had a breakfast egg, cheese and bacon sandwich on a Portugese "English" muffin. Good coffee selection. Fun place to visit. Check out the housewares and other gift items.
