5 Star rating! Shop filled with all kinds of goodies! The help couldn't be friendlier. They went out of their way to recommend other things to see. Took our photo with Coco the bear. We will be back if in the area. Highly recommend!

This is another name for the village peddler. Great chocolate shop not to be missed. See my other review for the village peddler to understand.

We took a special detour to visit this place. We travelled over 20 miles out of our way and when we got there we were ignored first of all by the female attendant and then by the man. We arrived just after 1pm and saw a notice on the door "2 tastings today at 1pm and 3pm" We told the man we'd travelled a long way and would like to try the tasting but he said the next one was at 3 o'clock and left it at that. We have visited many attractions in the states in the 10 visits we have made over the years and this one certainly had the worst customer service. The toilet facilities were a porta potty outside that was stinking and the lock didn't work on the door urgh!

Went out of our way to visit the chocolatorium. Now I am not sure why. Perhaps we did not take full advantage of what they had to offer but no one seemed to notice we were there and did not offer any information or encouragement.

We paid $5 for a chocolate tasting. It included a 15 minute movie and about 45 minutes of tasting (7 chocolates) and questions. We learned so much and in a such a pleasant way. Tasting chocolate is like tasting wine! Who knew? And the chocolates sold at the store (The Village Peddler) were fantastic and reasonably priced. What fun! One of our best food tour experiences ever!

Get out your road map, and find East Arlington. It is a lovely little town, that is picturesque in it's own special way. There is a lovely little creek that flows through town, and the local residents are happy to see you here and will stop and visit with you and tell you many things about their home.In this lovely setting is a little shop on the road across from a good place to park. The Chocolatorium. The name says it all! All of the items for sale are delicious chocolate. There are other items you can get here, stuffed animals and small items. You can even enter the chocolate making area and see a demonstration. Though the day we were there, it was not scheduled. The owner spent quite a lot of time visiting with us, which made us feel very special for stopping by. It is a wonderful time, and we found ourselves smiling in here quite a bit. Yes, we bought some chocolate, but who wouldn't??Enjoy this special place. It is a wonderful surprise and fun at the same time!

For something fun to do, visit the Chocolatorium! We were looking for something "different" to do on a rainy Saturday. About an hour and 15-minute drive from Albany, NY it was a perfect way to spend our afternoon. Not knowing exactly what to expect, we were pleasantly surprised. When we entered, we were greeted with the aroma of chocolate. The shop was cute and contained teddy bears and stuffed animals, a bar with a variety of homemade treats available (such as frozen bananas dipped in chocolate that we were able to top with sprinkles...yummy!) We also saw a some really neat things made out of chocolate, including a giant teddy bear, a village, a huge Easter basket and bunnies, and a Santa and sleigh. During our visit, we watched a short video about how chocolate was made, took a quiz afterwards to earn chocolate coins, sampled chocolates from around the world (for a small fee), and made our own candy bar (also available for a small fee, and possibly only offered on certain days Call for more information). The staff was friendly and knowledgeable...really great people to talk to. So, next time you need to satisfy your sweet tooth, take a ride to the Chocolatorium.

What a wonderful place to bring children! A friendly, family-owned business run during the summer by two sisters (who teach during the year), and presumably by the father and brother the rest of the time, this is a lovely shop to visit for children. There was a video, coloring, all sorts of things to see (chocolate carved homes, for example), and on the day we went, MAKE YOUR OWN CHOCOLATE BAR! Our three kids loved it, and we had a great time chatting with the fascinating and knowledgeable Denise. Thanks to Denise and Sherry (spelling?) for being so warm and welcoming and for giving our girls a great experience.

This place is so awesome. A little hard to find , so you really have to pay attention to the signs. From the moment we stepped inside i was in love. The aroma of the handmade chocolates was amazing and also mouthwatering. The bearatorium was cool with so many bears and stuffed animals to choose from. But on the other side of the store was some of the most amazing looking chocolates i've ever seen. Everything from buttercreams, caramels, peanut butter cups to hard candies and whatever else your heart desires, you can find it here. And i'm not sure who the older lady was working on that saturday we went was, but she was the cutest and she was so darn nice. We loved talking to her about the store and the candy and a little history to boot. You definately cant leave this store empty handed. We will definately be going back, a hidden gem!

this store is a gem! Family run business by the nicest people! They make you feel so at home, like you have known them forever! A little off the beaten path but so worth finding. Definitely do the chocolate testing and learn how chocolate is made and how it REALLY supposed to taste! Follow signs for Village Peddler, Bearatorium or Chocolatorium. Its all the same. Don't get nervous about the boarded up window, it is there for their 100 lb chocolate teddy bear. Delicious chocolate and the fudge is the die for!!!!!

This place was a "Must-see" for me! It's very small and in an itty-bitty town of only a few stores. It smells amazing and there is a big display made completely of chocolate! There is also a teddy bear made of chocolate which is pretty sweet (hehe)! You can watch an informative video and then have some trivia where they give you chocolate money for answering correctly! Just wonderful and oh so delicious! Enjoy!

What an education to sit in on one of Nick's presentations about chocolate. He's so enthusiastic about his love of the art. Call ahead for a video and personal lesson with samples! Then shop their American made store for all they have to offer. My groups love it and it's always a stop on our trips to the East Coast

I found mention of this place in a local tourist brochure, so set out to find it. It's definitely not on the well-beaten path of 7A, but required a turn onto a small side street that threatened to disappear into a dead-end until I happened to catch the small sign directing me to turn right. It's a cute, if touristy, shop with chocolates and candies on one side, and a gift shop filled with every type of teddy bear (the Bearatorium) on the other side. The woman working the counter was pleasant, and I bought a couple of pieces of fudge that turned out to be incredibly rich and creamy. Glad I found the place.

My husband and I stumbled upon the chocolatorium while on a hiking trip. It was one of the most memorable parts of our weekend! We took an impromptu tasting lesson. The “teacher” presented a history of chocolate and a background on how chocolate is produced. I’m a huge chocolate lover, so this was especially exciting for me! It’s not a very expensive activity, and would probably be fun for parents and kids alike (we don’t have children, but I did feel like a kid in a candy store!) Highly recommend a visit…call in advance for tasting times because I think they only do it once or twice a day.

Was expecting more than just a corny souvenier shop...oh well
