We live 5 miles down the road from Princess Place. It is our go-to place when we want to go on a hike in the wilderness. There are lots of trails, all different lengths, something for everyone. The historical log cabin overlooking the bay is a beautiful setting to visit, along with the natural spring pool nearby. We ended up hiking for 2 hours, enjoying our gorgeous National Geographic's surroundings. It is a hidden gem!

The history here is very unique. You would never know a Russian Prince and Princess would have ended up here - under any circumstance. The house, pool and grounds are in great condition. The area is very scenic with a large tidal bay next to the home and pool... take a few minutes, relax and learn.

This is a nice place to go see. Don't expect anyone to be there to help you if the house is not open for touring. Make sure you go when the house is open otherwise you can just look in the windows. Wish we had gone when they had the house open but it was free and it was a nice drive.

Been here plenty of times and it's a great location for taking photos whether it be family, holiday events, pre or post wedding pictures, or even a group selfie! Love the big old oak trees and hanging moss. Dog friendly..keep your pet on a leash (public facility) and picking up after your pet matters too. If one can find this using the Internet and seeing if they have a website, good place for 411 before arriving.

If a native Floridian hadn't put us on to this beautiful preserve, we would never have known about it. There is no advertising anywhere, and the signs really don't indicate the amazing views down the winding dirt road. You will have to google it to find it, but it is well worth the drive. No charge. Our friend told us to look in the river for manatees, but we had little time. Just the drive around the preserve at a slow speed takes you back to how Florida must have looked many decades ago. Equestrian camping is promoted here. Also a unique deserted hunting lodge offers weekend tours. Apparently Florida's first swimming pool is also located on the property. Didn't see that, but we used the bathroom facilities before we left. All in all a peaceful getaway.

These are the grounds of a former plantation, so they are more parklike than wilderness but there are still some great fishing spots that are not too crowded. We didn't seem much wildlife but there is an eagle nesting area. The house itself looked interesting but the day we went there were no tours. The setting of the house on the river really is wonderful though, and the whole park is clean, uncrowded and nicely set up. We were so much more relaxed after we left.

Very beautiful park in Palm Coast. We went after a very heavy rain and the main road to the park was very flooded. You will be traveling down this dirt road for about 5 minutes and if its after a heavy rain, you may not want to go down it unless you have an SUV. The view of Pellicer Creek is very nice and peaceful and we love the rocking chairs on the porch. Nice place to just sit and relax. You can also go out on the dock and fish in the creek (which is more like a lake)

This is a little hard to find but well worth it. The sand road that leads to it is long and winds through scrub forest. Once at the preserve, there is a lodge which is open for self tours usually on weekends. This is not a well used park except for several festivals. Most weekdays and weekends, there are few people and the front porch of the lodge has rocking chairs that look out to the water. Primitive camping is available and there are horse trails. Main attraction is peace and quiet in the huge waterfront moss draped oak trees. Deer can be frequently seen and at times with young fawns.

What a great weekend we had at Princess Preserve! The bathroom with shower is right by the equestrian campsite. It is about 20 minutes from Crescent Beach where there is an equestrian parking area. The county employees handling my reservation and questions both by phone and email were very helpful, but not too familiar with the equestrian campsites. They let me send a check to hold my reservation, call for details. There are 5 campsites for horses. The wooden corrals are 14x14. There is ample room at each site to park your trailers, cars, tents, etc. Water spickets are closely located near each corral. The trails are wide and very well maintained. The on-site rangers are extremely friendly and helpful. George even came to our site with his chainsaw to cut up the wood we had brought from home while we were off riding. He is great to work with. The ONLY drawback that we found a bit inconvenient was the 6pm closed gate curfew, but this will hardly keep us from going back. WE LOVED Princess Preserve!

Nice nature preserve near Palm Coast. Former hunting lodge and home to the first inground pool in Florida. Tours of the Lodge on occasion, but an informative video in "visitor center". For equestrians there are several campsites with corrals. Beautiful water views and very peaceful. Best of all...it's free!

Peace full, quiet place to visit. Mansion tours, picnicking and hiking. Free admission. Check it out you will love it.

This huge park is off the beaten path, and as such, doesn't draw the crowds that the more well-known parks do. There is horseback riding, swimming, camping, hiking, and just basic relaxing - in other words, something for everyone! It is a perfect example of "Old Florida", full of cypress trees and spanish moss, as well as abundant wildlife. Plan to spend the day, just so you can see it all.

This place is so nice!Walking the trails is very relaxing and peaceful. The views of the water are breathtaking. They have areas where you can have a picnic or get together. I went to a sweet 16 party there that was so nice.

Super trail systems for walking and horseback. Gorgeous views and abundant wildlife viewing, if you go in a car stay in the main area where the lodge is and access the trails via walking or by horseback, we were there today ( 10-03-14 ) and where the rains have been heavy roads off the beaten path were muddy and would have been a challenge in a car ( we were in a SUV so no issues ) Be warned the actual house is not available to go in unless its a day they do a tour.

Nice marked dirt roads within the park boundary that includes signs pointing to the eagle nesting area, lots of picnic tables, some right at the water's edge. This park is free, open daily, and also has an equestrian area. We live close by here in Palm Coast and this is one of our go-to spots for a nice leisurely, scenic drive.
