I brought my kids to pick honeybells for the first time 2 weeks ago. We didn't even know what honeybells were, but since we are from up north and have lived in Florida for 9 years now without visiting an orange grove, I didn't care what they were, only that we were able to pick them ourselves in the beautiful sunny weather...we were so excited! Let me just say...honeybells are absolutely wonderful. We bought almost 9 lbs of them, and they were gone in a week. So sweet and juicy! Actually, I'm taking the kids again tomorrow before they go out of season. Apparently there are new things to pick, depending on the season, so I'm looking forward to seeing what's next. They offer free samples of the citrus fruit for you to try as well as the OJ. The little shop is so cute! The only complaint I had was that the toilet wasn't working properly, so the bathroom was gross, but the employees were working on it while we were there after we notified them about it. All in all, great place. Can't wait for tomorrow!! :-)

Cute roadside business with a citrus grove behind it. They take groups of people out to pick their own, but only when certain varieties are ready to pick. You will walk through their packing facility and out to the beautiful grove. We have been there twice to pick our own Honey Bells and Sugar Bell Tangerines. They have great grapefruits sold by the bag, and very reasonable priced. If you don't want to pick your own, they sell them already picked. They also sell their orange juice. We will make the 30 minute drive to get our citrus from Dooley Groves.

Guided Tours every half an hour take you into the orchard to pick the freshest, best tasting citrus in the Tampa area. Today it was the most sough after Honeybells that juice down your arm as you munch away. We added grapefruit and tangerines to the mix and eyeballed the coconut treats, honey and numerous other snacks. Super friendly staff to answer all your questions and great prices. I just hope some fruit is left for the car ride home!

We moved to Sun City Center in 2013 and found Dooley Groves. This is our go to for citrus fruits, jams and mailing our friends and family citrus gifts.

During citrus season, Dooley Groves provides free tours of their citrus groves. The tour guides are knowledgeable and very friendly. I learned so much about how oranges and lemons are grown and processed for shipping! There is also a store with Oranges and other citrus fruits available depending on the season. If I heard correctly, they sell their products from the grove through the store and online but not to larger companies. They also have some 'pick your own' days. There are also free samples of all the fruit they sell. I don't believe I have tasted better orange juice! Squeezed fresh on site. This was definitely the highlight of my week in the area!
