cool breeze boat & jet ski rentals

The day started with the owner treating us and another party of boat renters as if we were total idiots. The boat we rented was ok speedo and horn did work, steering sucked. I have been driving boats for 40 years. I always have followed the rules and obey all boating laws. When it came time to return the boat we were right on time and I knew exactly how I wanted to dock it. Well the owner started yelling at me and acting like a panic mistress. She was running around on the dock and I said I got it and she yelled no you don't. The end result the boat was docked with no damage. This was not enough for her she continued ranting to our party embarrassing me and the rest of us.If you want to be belittled and embarrassed go ahead and do business with her. I will never go back.

Not at all what we arranged or expected in a rental from a local business. Kerry and his wife will berate you on the phone to pinch a few extra pennies or in our case double the cost of our quoted rental. If you want a good customer service experience you'll have better luck driving yourself in your car to your desired destination.

My daughter's friend rented a center console boat the last time they visited Sarasota and took us out cruising. He wasn't happy with the handling of that boat. So this year he wanted to try another boat rental company so they called Cool Breeze and reserved a center console Angler for the day. When we arrived at the boat rental office there was a sign on the door directing us to walk around to the back. Parking was not allowed in front of the building but directly across the street was a large grassy area for parking. We were greeted by a friendly older gentleman who gave us a good briefing of the rules and regulations while two men were cleaning & prepping our boat. He pointed out the best scenery & beaches plus good places to stop for lunch. We boarded the boat and he then went over the boat operation systems & features. He was quite through and very friendly. After we spent the day cruising the inter coastal waterway, my daughter's friend was satisfied with the handling of this boat which he felt was superior than what he had rented at the other rental company. He said he would return to Cool Breeze. The staff was friendly and courteous. We finished the day with a great meal at Pop's restaurant right next door (we didn't even have to move the car! Another plus to come to Nokomis for a good selection of rental boats and a favorite spot for locals for lunch or dinner...it's always packed.

Great business to use. The wake time to get out to the ocean isn't bad at all. The instructions were great and the owner and workers were all professional. We rented a total of 5 jet skis with our family of 9 and none of us had a problem. They send out someone that stays to make sure that everything is ok and they will also take pictures which is great!!

The equipment worked well and we had a great day... But the owner was extremely rude. We rented a boat for the day and jet skis for an hour at the end of the day. In the morning, he was arrogant and controlling. We were told we needed to be back by 4:30 since they closed at 5. We set the 1 hr jet ski rental up for 3:30 and that way we'd be back with both rentals by 4:30. He knew that part of our group was going to be waiting behind since we had a child with us. We got back by 2:30 so we could eat first. The owner seemed upset that we were not ready to hand the boat back over to him before departing on the jet skis. Our host explained that his wife and my son would be with the boat and it was to be left there, we weren't ready to turn it in. After finishing lunch in the restaurant near by, they went back to the boat were we had left our stuff. About 10-15 minutes before got back on the jet skis, the owner had my son and our friend get off the boat so he could refuel it, then he removed our stuff from the boat. When we arrived back at 4:31 (with their guide), they were on a different dock with all of our stuff sitting out on the dock.His explanation for why he had removed them and our stuff was that the rental was due back at 4:30. (Remember, they close at 5). He knew we were on our way back because they escort you out and back on the jet skis, so we were with one of his staff members. After all that, he never thanked us for our business or even tried to apologize for his rudeness or for being so impatient.My discontent is not just over him wanting to get the boat cleaned, refueled and redocked before 4:45, but just the manner he communicated with us and his attitude with us. The rest of the staff seemed pleasant, but the owner was mean, condescending, overbearing, and downright rude. Our friends live in the area and have rented boats from there before, as well as other locations. I am fairly sure they will not be returning.

My husband and I found a coupon in the local magazine at the tourist info center. The place was a little hard to find but well worth looking for. The staff was extremely helpful and courteous. After a brief guided exit in the no wake zone we were allowed to go north or south. We chose south paralleling Venice Beach. So glad we did! We saw dolphins and turned the engine off for a little bit - one of the dolphins swam right up to the jet ski. What a great experience!The staff member that guides you out is your watch - so no need to worry about how to keep track of time while you are out there. They take your picture for you and put it up on Facebook that night. Overall, a very excellent experience that we would definitely do again. I highly recommend Cool Breeze!

Buddy and I rented two jet skis from Cool Breeze. They have great access (about 10 minutes) to get to the Gulf where you can open them up. Jet skis were of great condition and ran perfectly. Topped out about 40 mph. They chauffeur you out of the inter coastal and float around in the Gulf while you jet ski. They do not send you out on your own. There are a lot of rules and regulations to follow and I think that is why they chauffeur you out. They keep their distance and let you run free from there. Since Sarasota County does not allow jet skis on the beach, it does start to wear on you as a rider if you don't jet ski that much because the only break you can take is sitting on the jet ski afloat in the Gulf.Overall, great experience and the people working are super nice. They will keep your belongings there for you so you don't have to worry about getting them wet on the jet skis.

Paid a spontaneous visit to Cool Breeze to rent a jet ski on a day without any plans. Picked the place for its extremely competitive costs (USD 85 for one hour of jet ski). The persons there where very friendly and helpful - went on the water after 15 minutes and had the choice of driving on the gulf or the jetty, we chose both which was a great experience. Highly recommended!
