This review is for the kayak and canoe rentals service for use at the Ichtucknee Springs State Park and not the campground as we are not campers. The office location several hundred feet from the Rte 238 north entrance to the Park is so convenient with flexible departure times, and economical. Choice of solo or tandem kayaks in v. good condition. Aluminum canoe fleet is older but still float. They picked us up, three hours later, on time at the takeout off US 27. Have used them in the past and would use them again.

The entire family is extremely nice and easy to deal with. The experience was great. From the drop off at the kayak launch to the timely pick up at the end of the ride. Only concerns are regarding the camp ground itself. The bathrooms are in a really bad condition and we chose not to take a shower there for that reason.

My friend and I stayed here back in January (which was off season). Tracy and her family were very accomodating and helpful. We were supposed to sleep in a tent but it was about 40 degrees so we upgraded to a cabin. The next day we rented a double kayak and went to the beautiful springs. We saw tons of wildlife- otters, birds, and turtles. We were told there was a manatee and baby there a few days before. The cabin was warm and had a small table to play cards, a porch swing, grill, and fire pit. The general store had everything we needed. We could have stayed a few more days!

In addition to renting tubes for river rafting, they also have a convenience store. Very nice people. We have stayed at their campground (in past years). It is small and fills up quickly, but a fun place to camp (primitive, or cabin).

The first thing you may notice when you pull in is the overflowing dumpster ! Don't worry that going to be the most sanitary thing you will see there ! The restrooms/bathhouse is hands down the most disgusting unsanitary facility that our family has ever been too ! There were sanitary pads (used) on the floors as well as an ample supply of urine . It has a strong aroma of raw sewage too. The men 's room was no better with a bucket under a broken urinal to attempt to catch everything .The walls had mold on them and looked like they haven't been cleaned in years !!!Do yourself a favor and look around first before you plan your trip and find a nice campground !

This place is awful. They advertise they have clean restrooms. They look like they have not been touched since they were built in the 60s. There was trash on nearly every surface and it smelled like sewage. The campsites offer ZERO privacy. Kids were walking back and forth and throwing a foot ball into our site while we were setting up. The back of our sites was a make shift basket ball court. The "fire rings" are truck tire rims. When we went to the office/back woods country store to tell them we were leaving and driving the 2 1/2 hours back home due to the lousy conditions we were offered credit to stay later in the season. There is no way will come back. Stay far away from this place!

I decided I wanted to go visit the ichetucknee springs for my bday for a little kayaking/tubing. I found this camping spot online and decided to give it a shot. Like anyone else, we were nervous about the place and how clean it would be. It was super! The staff was nice, laid back and very helpful. The bathrooms and showers were clean and very well maintained. We rented kayaks from them which was great bc they do everything for you and are located right by the north entrance. We asked the guy to pick us up at the end of the ride at a specific time and there he was on the dot. Overall my bday weekend was awesome and would definitely come back to camp at this spot. Btw we camped at the water and electric area. Thanks Ichetucknee Family Canoes and Cabins for a great bday weekend!

I am a big fan of Disney but sometimes you just need to get a way. I originally was going to stay at a state park for my river adventure. I changed because the Olena State Park didn't allow campfires. I am glad I did. The cabins are simple and basic. You bring your own bedding, but there is electricity to charge telephones. There is a bathroom, complete with showers nearby. There is a grill, picnic table and campfire ring. My kids enjoyed roasting hotdogs and s'mores. The area is close to the North Entrance of the Ichetucknee River and it was an easy hike to see some springs. There is a wide range of water trips offered and all sorts of tubes for tubing. The owners are simply great people. I particularly appreciated how kind they were to my older daughter who has autism. She was all smiles, particulary on the river. My younger daughter really enjoyed making a campfire and cooking outdoors. We went kayaking one day on the river and tubing the next. On both trips, we saw manatees in the water. On one we saw a river otter. We had a very relaxing two night visit.

The folks here are great and really don't need another good review...So I thought I'd post a reminder to other paddlers they will bring you back to the launch after you leave your vehicle at the south entrance. If nothing else stop by the store and learn some local history and pet the cat.

Uncomplicated simple lodging. Very basic but what it lacks in comforts makes up for in location and secluded relaxed atmosphere. Only complaint was cabin smelt slightly musky.

Great place to stay and destress. We stayed in their cabin that sleeps 4, include two full-sized beds which sleep four, a table with chairs, two rocking chairs, a lamp, and A/C in the summer or space heaters in the winter. There is a swing on the porch, a fire ring, a charcoal grill and a picnic table outside. There are no kitchen or bathroom facilities in the cabin, but our bathouse is centrally located and just a minute or two walk from any of the cabins.Owens were very friendly and helpful. The only down side is you have to drive 15+ miles to the nearest store or restaurant and had to live with poor cell phone reception. All in All was what we needed.

Clean, close to head springs for early put in, has camp store and rents tubes, firewood, supplies, cabins basic but clean and has ac . frendly staff

YOu park your car and they do all the work: hauling the canoes, putting them in the water, loading them back on the trailer, and driving you back to your car. It takes all the work out of the visit.

Enroute to south florida, from georgia, I sought out an adventure for my family, and we were pleased with how this stay turned out. This campground and adventure center was clean, well kept and operated by a very nice couple. They have rv and tent sites, as well as rustic cabins. The cabins have 4 walls, 2 beds, a wall outlet, a couple chairs, and a lamp. Thats what cha get. you bring the fun. don't plan on cell service, internet or wifi here. get away from it all for a night or two and enjoy this place. they put us on a local restaurant that was great, and gave us help on our driving tour to south fla as well.

We rented intertubes to float down the river. The river is pretty cold and it was overcast, but they also rent little boats to float in. the people were very nice and friendly, the fellows ties everything to the van for us. Great prices, and great service.
