If you are looking for a real trail ride then this is for you! I have done many trail rides all over the place and this is by far the best. They really let you experience what I can only imagine that our forefathers experienced when settling the state of FL. The trail took us in the back country of Florida, through rivers, streams, and brush. This is exactly what my wife and I were looking for. Very friendlily guide and a safe environment.

The ride was varied in the state park…through open areas, through the Florida scrub, and winding through a creek or two. A beautiful day with nature.

Makin Tracks showed us the real forests of Florida, as meant to be seen, from the back of a horse. Our guide Cory was simply the greatest. He kept us laughing, while also sharing some great stories that made the ride very immersive. We are planning to come back for a whole-day ride very soon. We cannot recommend it more.

Great ranch owner, very accomodating and knowledable. Horses are all rescues that have been rehabitalized. Will come back for another trip.

I booked a trip for a same-day ride, drove to Ft McCoy, and met the accomodating crew at Makin Tracks. After trailering the horses down to the trail head (5-minute trip), my daughter and I mounted and we headed out in to the Ocala National Forest with our guide Cory. While we did not see any wildlife on our ride, Cory was careful to show us where black bears had fed, wild hogs waller, and we heard the gators chirp - wild Florida at its best. Cory shared facts on the history of the area, wildlife facts, and personal experiences while in the forest. My daughter even swam with a horse in the river.Skip the in-town riding stables, take a drive, and experience Florida nature, healthy-horses, and an expert guide at Makin Tracks. This is a unique adventure for anyone interested in Florida's beautiful forests, seen from a saddle.

Probably the best trail ride I've ever done. If it's an indication, we were barely half way and my son was already asking when we could do it again. In fact, I think he asked a number of times and I'm sure we'll be back again and again

A friend that has never rode before and I wanted to go on a trail ride for my birthday. This exceeded our expectations.This is amazing for riders of all ages and levels of experience. Cory and his nephew were Great guides. We went out on the 2hr river ride, and it was awesome! Riding Shadow in the river was so neat!! We had a blast, and will definitely be back with more people! WE LOVED IT!! We celebrated our anniversary and had an amazing experience! Riding through the trails is a whole different experience than riding in an equestrian farm. There is nothing like swimming in a river with a majestic animal. They have beautiful horses, easy riders and more advanced horses. We will definitely be going back and bringing friends along with us! They do trips at 9 am, 1pm, and 5pm.

My wife and I, along with our 4 and 6 yr olds made the GREAT decision to sign up for a horseback trail ride. What a fantastic experience it was. The guide was a NATURAL and made the trip very entertaining for the kids and adults alike. The horseback swim in the River was the "icing on the cake". A life long experience and one highly recommended for kids of all ages (this means adults too). We'd do it again in a heart beat. THANK YOU for a great ride and wonderful memories.

This is truly a must do when visiting Ocala. Keeping two teenagers happy is not an easy job but Cory and Austin did just that. After being introduced to the horses, we headed to the trail. We were all novice riders and a little apprehensive. Not for long. These horses are very good with riders and are pretty much on auto pilot. They needed very little guidance and had a GREAT manner to them. The teenagers LOVED the adventure and LOVED the horses. Swimming in the river with one was a real treat. LOVED IT ALL!! Will definitely return. If you want to get up close and personal, this is a MUST DO when in Ocala.

My husband and I were avid horse back riders when we were in our teens. However, as we got older life took us in a different direction. When my husband surprised me, and said we were going horse back riding I was a little skeptical. However, all my skepticism was put to rest as soon as we pulled up. Cory and Tina made us feel right at home. They know each horse and their personalities. It took them no time to pick out the perfect match for my husband and I to ride. My husband and I had the time of our lives as we were taken back to our teens riding through the woods together. The horses were beautiful and very well taken care of. It was easy to see that they were passionate about their animals. I can't wait to return and bring our son so that he can experience the joys of riding. Thank you Cory and Tina! Just returned to England, and wanted to let you all know what an excellent time I had with Cory, Tina and Bones. I booked a Day ride which enabled me to enjoy 2 different locations, the morning we rode in a more open area, the afternoon a shadier route with the option to swim - I resisted the urge however my horse (Bones) enjoyed a good paddle and drink. Bones was the perfect Gent and felt we were well suited, he also had the nicest temperament you could ask for. All the horses looked well cared for and happy in their work.Cory and Tina should be very proud of what they have achieved and hope they continue in giving the less-lucky horses a new lease of life.If I get the chance to visit Florida again, Makin Tracks will certainly be on my agenda.Thanks again, Lisa
