We really enjoyed seeing the planes and aircraft outdoors. The inside displays give a great deal of detail and involve a lot of reading, but it was still very enjoyable to wander around the displays.

This is a great museum with tons of stories and hundreds of exhibits from small handguns to dozens of full sized military air craft including the guns and bombs they carry!! There is also an exhibit of the type of atomic bomb that ended World War II. While we were there we were privileged to a witness to the formal retirement ceremony of one of commanding officers of the local Air Force base. All of this and it is is FREE admission!! However, be sure to leave a nice donation to help with the maintenance of such a wonderful and educational exhibit!!

The price is right....free, and they have quite an assortment of planes and jet aircraft, everything from WWII to present day.

First time we stopped at the Air Force Museum we had no idea it had such a variety of planes and armaments. It is a nice place to spend some time and learn some history.

Being retired USAF I enjoy coming to this museum annually during our trip to FWB. It has a wide variety for all people, not only for anyone associated with the military but anyone who has an interest in the military. I encourage you to take time to read the Medal of Honor wall for the aviators/airmen who gave so much. There are many others in the USAF who gave it all, but this is worth the time and from the POW exhibit on, it helps you think of those who give us our freedom.. You have a wide variety of aircraft on display outside, thus it will take some time to see it all. Or do as I do, visit a couple times. I appreciate the countless hours of dedicated volunteers who make this possible. Admission is free, but donations are accepted. During your tour outside you will most likely hear the sound of freedom. Jet engine noise that is. Look up and you may see, among others, an F-35, F-15, F-16, C-130, or a variety of helicopters.

This place is a great location for a military retirement ceremony. With all the flags in the back drop and the huge US flag in the back, makes for awesome pictures! Only downfall was the restrooms were under renovation so I had to take my son outside in the Port-A-Potties to use the restroom. Other than that, great!

Interesting but more for men. Large displays of guns and ammo from military for most of history. Large outside display of planes. Free admission

This place is amazing. We walked around for about and hour and no one bothered us. The children were more excited than the adults. As far as I know it is free and very, very interesting.

This museum made me appreciate my country and those who serve. There was a good mixture of armaments and planes from WW1 through the Iraq war. The only draw back to our visit was that the restrooms were under renovation and we had to use port-a-johns outside the building. Hopefully that is only a temporary situation.

This is the place to learn about past and present warfare. It's a great to bring the kids so they can have fun and learn as well. It's worth getting in the traffic for the experience. Go there and show your backing for the US. .

As a retired AF fighter navigator, I enjoyed the displays, many brought back fond memorie and some reminded me of scary moments in combat.

We visited on a Sunday (the museum is actually closed on Sundays) and spent over an hour just looking at the historic airplane display outside the museum. Because Eglin AFB is a testing facility, all of the planes here have, at one point, spent time at Eglin - hence, it is to Eglin they have retired. Many of the planes are one-of-a-kind or first-off-the-line, and each is accompanied by an explanatory marker that indicates -When and Why the aircraft was manufactured, -Where that specific aircraft saw action and was based, and -What the aircraft was designed to accomplish. -Specs indicating range, cargo capacity, and ordnance capacity are also provided.SO educational and enlightening! This area, as a whole, is NOT one with much in the way of museums or cultural experiences -it is mostly just beach- so this gem is certainly not to be missed!

Love the museum. Take my grandkids and the boys love it. If you can get yourself away from our beautiful beaches sure is worth the short trip
