Nice plaque in the park to explain the history. Just off of Main Street not far from Bradley University. Awsome tree! Unusual character hanging around asked my son to use his cell phone.

High street is full of beautiful homes. Take a quick look at the tree, ponder it's significance, then get walking! Stroll down the shaded sidewalk of high street till it bends into north Sheridan. Walk up north Sheridan a block to find some great shops... Urban artifacts, moon dancer, restoration, etc. well worth the walk there! Then head back to your car. Can do it all in an hour easily! If you are up for more walking, check out west moss, which intersects high street and n Sheridan. Stately homes all down this street.

Significant. If the powers that be think it deserves a park, then it's worth seeing. And I agree. You won't find this just anywhere.Show your kids

The old tree is beautiful and it's neighborhood is equally gorgeous. Sometimes it make attract unfavorable guests but for the most part it is an awesome view of downtown Peoria and a trip back in time. Peoria has a rich history and this park and tree, as well as the surrounding homes, are telling it's story.

Not much to see. Maybe spend a 10-15 minute side trip and stretch your legs. Watch your surroundings as some vagrants do visit the area.
