I learned a lot about the Lincoln Douglas debates and the history before and after them. There are a bunch of informative sign boards for people to read. There are also a few benches for sitting. The park is outside and you can cover it in 20 minutes or so.

This is a fun way to learn some history. There is just enough information to keep you interested in the Lincoln-Douglas contest but not so much that it seems overwhelming.

A block next to Union Dairy has been dedicated to the Lincoln-Douglas Debate. A large sculpture, a stone marking the site and several easy-to-read sign boards explain the history. It is an easy walk around the area, and seating is available.Well worth seeing!

For those who enjoy history, this small park provides several informative signage postings that represent the famous Lincoln-Douglas debate.

Take a walk down the path and experience how Freeport was part of American history. Stand on the same ground Abraham Lincoln walked, listen to the debate reenactment, learn what made differance Freeport made in the presidential debate, and stand next to life size statues of Lincoln and Douglas.

Absolutely no reason to visit this "attraction" other than to eat the ice cream cone you get next door at Union Dairy.

We stopped here and took a few pictures. It's a nice little stop but not anything worthing going out of your way to see.

This is a little area in town that is covered in flowers. It has a wonderful statue of Lincoln and Douglass, with plaques explaining what happened there. With the ice cream shop next door, it's worth the stop and visit.

Stopped by because of the history but not much there. A small park space with statues. There are signage posts dotted along the park to give you more information. Some of the posts are worn out already. A quick walk takes about 5 minutes.Wish they do more for this attraction. However, the ice cream store: Union Dairy right next door is definite worth the stop.

A small square on Douglas St., between the library and Union Dairy. Very informative, and a nice little park.

This is were the "Freeport Doctrin " came in to being as result of this 1858 debate. Tall Abe had a logn debate with "The little Giant".

This is right next to the library so we meandered over. Such a nice place to meditate. I hope that there are no changes made. Hope to be able to spend more time there the next time we visit.

We attended this when it was the groundbreaking reinactment. COOL! It's in a downtown location with an excellent ice cream ship called Union Dairy right next door. Visit this in the summer months and enjoy a cone while you see the Debate square.
