It has a very nice lake (no boats of any kind), with a paved level path for walking, biking, running, and wheelchairs. Plenty of benches to rest on, fishing if desired, fountain in the middle,Gazebo, plenty of trees to "just sit under". Bring a blanket... but watch where you sit, as they do have a lot of Canadian Geese and you know what a mess they can create.Walk your dog, but must be on a leash (strictly policeman enforced) and they even provide the "cleanup" bags if you forget. A nice large parking lot, and bathrooms (weather permitting). For many people, it's a visit "5 times a week" place for Exercise. Tennis and basketball courts. Enjoy PS, it has a boat landing (canoe/kayak, no motor) when the water is up, as the Kishwaukee river is a very shallow river in the dry season. If you're an innertube type person, the Kishwaukee River (adjacent) is the perfect summer adventure for you... NO ALCOHOL!

This is a nice, quiet park. The path around the lake is good for a short walk or run. Sledding down the hill in the winter is fun.

PROS: abundant and safe parking; there is walking path that goes around the big pond/lake? that is the perfect length for kids on bikes and amateur walkers; there is a small hill that would be perfect for sledding in winter; small gazebos dot the walking path; the Kishwaukee river runs alongside it. The site of the 4th of July firework display. CONS: as one reviewer mentioned it is unfortunately virtually treeless in most parts.

Great place to start a day of canoeing. There is a nice size pond for fishing and some open space for running, picnicking, or walking a dog. The Kishwaukee river runs through it, and there is a nice restaurant down the road "BackYard Bar and Grill."

We love to walk our dogs around the lake. It is a pretty walk and it usually has quite a few people there, but it is rarely crowded. There are benches to rest on and good places to have a picnic. Bonus- there are tennis courts near the parking lot, as well.

Good path around the lake. Safe for kids to play. The fishing isn't the greatest here, don't waste your time on that.

Recently discovered this beautiful park and all it has to offer - fishing, baseball, walking path is about 1 1/4 mile around the lake. Beautfully maintained and gorgeous gazebos throughout, along with picnic tables, benches, etc. Lovely.

It's a nice park in Cherry Valley. A good place to launch a raft, take a stroll around the lake or have a picnic. It's clean, has decent parking except when there is a slow pitch tournament and is kid friendly. There are trees along the edges, but the park itself is almost treeless. The walking path is probably a bit more than a mile and on weekends, you may be dodging bikers or roller bladers. If you're looking for a better option, try Sinissippi Park in Rockford. It is top notch.
