A great exposure to the Amish culture. Wonderful, interesting place to shop! If you enjoy health food, there are some great finds here. If you are a "from scratch" cook, you will find hard to acquire items. If you like canning, this is the place for you. If you are a homeschooler, there are off the shelf educational items. If you are a prepper, the bulk foods are great and off the grid kitchen tools are plentiful. SO many options. A "don't miss it" stop.

Very interesting Amish shop. You can get homemade bakery goods to all the spices you need. Books, sewing items, & dairy.

I agree with the other reviewers, no need to repeat the praises. For those with a preference for local food, less processed food, etc, it's a great alternative, though a bit tricky to find. I would recommend that the first timer stop at the Arthur visitor center and get a map, this place is country defined. And please, drive moderately, there are little kids driving carts & buggies running errands for their families on the roads on the way.

We really stocked up and took boxes of goodies home with us. If we lived nearby this would be on our regular stops for shopping.

A nice place to see a wonderful variety of food items. Locals bought the noodles, etc. We stopped in late afternoon for some baked goods. The little fruit pies were very good, but the breads were all sold out. We bought some jams, but found them cheaper at the next bakery we stopped at. Would loved to have sampled some of the cheeses as there is a large variety in their refrigerated section. There is a bit of everything, sort of like the mom and pop grocery stores we grew up with-before the supermarkets and mega stores.

If you have never been to a real country store then this is the place to go. We were just passing through so were not loading up. Make sure you get a pumpkin bread woopie pie.

This is like a Wal-mart for the Amish. There were many food items there that were made by the Amish. Everything that we tasted was very good!

Lived among the Amish for years and have many friends who are part of the Amish community. Several attractions are worthwhile when visiting the central Illinois Amish community, but none more than Beachy's bulk foods.First thing you will notice is the variety of items offered. Everything imaginable, in this case is only a slight overstatement. Second, is the price of both everyday and more exotic items; unbelievably low. Third, and most significant of all, is the ground level interaction with Amish staff and patrons. Great people who are always friendly and kind. Check out the toys and books for children. Keep an open mind especially as you peruse the book selection. Many children's books deal with subjects like "How to Help Mommy", with references to "Quiet minds and busy hands make the garden grow", etc., and other authentically Amish ideas with folk art style sketched illustrations. My wife purchased a few of these books for our grandchildren. As it turns out, they draw more attention from adult visitors to our home due to their unique cover art and content. Could go on, and on, but will close by saying this is a must see attraction that is likely to be overlooked.

They have the best price I have found on organic eggs, and their cantaloupes are enormous. Got a 50 lb. bag of chemical-free, non-gmo white whole-wheat flour for $31.50. Anyone know if their home-made, hand-churned butter is from grass-fed/pastured cows (rather than grain-fed cows)?

I loved this place, wish I was closer, it is like a country Sam's Club, Visit if you are in the area!!!

If you look hard you will find great bargains but most are just a few cents off the dollar. I go for the atmosphere to be honest. I would rather deal my money to the Amish over walmart any day! Plus I don't have to make my kids wear shoes either.

I love to go to Beachys. So many food items that you can't get in a bigger city. Very reasonably priced too. Of course the shopping in the local stores is great too.

We found bulk items like dried jalapeno, dried cilantro, etc. I bought lots of bulk spices. Amish pickles, jam, corn relish...all lovely in jars. We haven't found the volume of choices in Iowa that Beachy's had.

We loved the variety of foods available. This seems like a chefs grocery (probably because the locals don't do processed foods nearly as much as the average folks).

Huge variety of many herbs & spices, baking supplies of all kinds, canning supplies, meats, cheeses, fruits & vegetables. Many different kinds of fresh baked breads, pies, cakes, cookies plus much more of all kinds of things with most prices being very reasonable? Always a very interesting stop.
