I liked the story of the settler who was captured by one tribe and sold to another tribe who tattooed her chin before she was freed. I preferred to have larger print in the displays or have them raised higher up.

A very worthwhile place to spend some time after the Route 66 museum, includes a fair bit about the Indian tribes & local mining activities.

There were so many interesting displays, one could easily spend a couple hours in here just looking at everything and reading everything. I'd really recommend this to everyone. For $4 you get a pass to this museum, the Route 66 museum and the Bonelli house. Well worth much more $$$.

I really enjoyed learning of the settling of Kingman and seeing old relics. Very informative, and it was a wonderful break from a tedious day of business I was conducting in Kingman.

We stopped here on way out of town on Route 66. It's a nice well thought out museum with lots of history and artifacts of the local Kingman area, AZ and the desert southwest. The 2 staff people we met were both very nice and friendly. It's worth the stop while driving through town.

Kingman is not the largest town on the map but they sure know how to do an interesting museum. There are several in town but this one stands out! Information on Kingman is available but there are other exhibit to check out as well. The Presidential Portraits and Native American Exhibit are very well done. The gift shop is cute and has something for everyone!

This somewhat small museum is full of interesting displays and artifacts that help a traveler better understand the significance of the area and it's importance in Arizona history. Great folks working there and a fine gift shop as well. A worthy stop on Rt.66.

Very good museum to learn about little known facts historical to the area. Exhibits are well thought out and displayed in a concise manner. The museum staff are very helpful in explaining any exhibit. Well worth a stop.

This museum is great if you have been touring around the Mohave and Kingman area. The displays tell the story of change from all points of view.Your ticket will also allow you free entry to the Route 66 museum down the road in the Powerhouse. Can't be bad?

We enjoyed our visit to the Mohave Museum. What stood out to me were the staff and volunteers who are so friendly, informative and passionate about their museum. We especially enjoyed the Andy Devine display, including his incredible Rose Parade saddle. Being a horse person, and past parade participant, I was appreciative of the custom designed saddle for a man who died at over 350 pounds I was told! Must have been a huge horse to carry him! Also, I have never been in a red caboose! So don't forget to go out in back. Don't miss this lovely, home town museum. Note: the driveway entry is way in the back, not off the main drag.

This is a small museum all on one floor with exhibits both inside and out. Reasonably priced ($4 for adults, $3 for seniors and children under 12 free which also includes admission to Historic Route 66 Museum and the Bonelli House which depicts life in Arizona in the early 20th century), the museum relates the history of the area from prehistoric times to the present through murals, dioramas, videos, artifacts, memorabilia, a reconstructed mine tunnel, and exhibits. Ranching and mining are covered in detail, but there are also interesting exhibits including portraits of the presidents and their wives along with info on presidential birthplaces in a separate book near the portraits, exhibit on native son Andy Devine (while I was there the theater in the museum was showing "Stage Coach" starring Andy Devine and John Wayne), stuffed wildlife display, and an excellent exhibit on Indian pottery to name a few of the displays offered. When you pay your admission you are given a map and then proceed on your own self-guided tour. There are docents and if you have a question they are full of information and most anxious to help-they really know their stuff. Outdoors are more murals, a mine tunnel, fire station and blacksmith shop along with lots of old antique machinery. The more you look the more you see. There is a gift shop with some quality items at reasonable prices. No food is available. Everything is wheelchair and stroller accessible except the outdoor area is a little crowded between items. If you have limited time, The Route 66 Museum can be seen in a shorter amount of time, but this museum has a much more diverse range of exhibits. Both museums are worth a stop so allow plenty of time. The museums are close together with restaurants also nearby.

This was our first time visiting inside, although my husband did photograph the outside back in October when we were returning from a family reunion in Phoenix. My niece especially enjoyed the Indian displays, I didn't realize she was such a fan of Native American culture until she and her father accompanied us to attend the Route 66 Festival. Great price, nice gift shop, and I just had to get some "rock candy" jellybeans, which I hardly ever see any more.

We toured this museum along with Route 66 Museum & Bonelli House as part of the International Route 66 Festival. All three were well worth the visit but this one especially was packed with information about Mojave County city of Kingman and Route 66. There is a great exhibit on Andy Devine, an actor who was from the area, information on the Native Americans indigenous to the area along with some fabulous artifacts. Allow at least an hour to visit the treasure trove if memorabilia in this small museum...enjoy!!

Absolutely loved this little gem of a museum. It's small but it's packed full of wonderfully put together exhibits on everything from native people to Andy Devine to mining to Old West to local wildlife. I was so impressed at the attention to detail. I took my husband, my father, and my 4 year old son and we all loved it! It is very small but totally worth spending an hour or so checking out the exhibits. And when you purchase entry to this museum the ticket includes the Powerhouse Route 66 Museum and the Bonelli House.

This small museum was wonderful ! It told of Mojave County and how it was influenced by the Hualapai Indians, mining, the railroad, ranching, the military and the building of Boulder Dam. For you movie buffs, there was also a section devoted to Kingman's native son Andy Devine!!!! We allowed ourselves an hour and a half. It was not enough time to enjoy all the museum had to offer.
