Great stop in Oak Creek Canyon. Enjoyed playing in the river. Nice views of the river and the cliff sides.

Lovely view of the water coming off the rocks and the red rocks around it. Must be a very cool spot in the warm weather. Very tranquil area in March. Worth the stroll to get there.

Beautiful picturesque location in Oak Creek Canyon. Interesting history from the early 1900s when the site was first developed as an apple farm. Very pleasant stroll along the river and opportunities to swim from the rocks. A great place for a family picnic with a decent sized grass area for children to play safely.

We enjoyed our visit which included a hike above Oak Creek and along the water's edge. The views are great. The creek flows through a narrow sandstone canyon and has formed a natural slide. It looked like it might be fun but the water was way too cold this time of year. Get there early especially on summer weekends as the parking fills up. There are lots of picnic tables for your lunch break.

Even during off season this is a great place to visit. Fun to walk up the river and try to cross to the other side without losing your footing. The water was very cold in February but the sun was warm and the rocks were smooth and provided a welcome seat to soak up some rays on a beautiful Sedona day. A must see!Lori

Been here before when it was not freezing and raining. As a result, not much to enjoy but the walk. Would like to return when it's warm. Stopped in for a quick look so our 41 y/o daughter could see. Told him we would only be 15 minutes. Still got charged for entry. No worries.

An extremely beautiful place and a fun waterslide down the river thru channels cut into the red rock of Sedona

Wade in the water and slide across the tops of rocks as the water makes its way down Oak Creek Canyon.

It was an enjoyable 10 minute walk down to the creek because the views were beautiful. We spent an hour down by the creek just exploring and it was one of my favorite parts of the trip. Every time we turned around we had another incredible view and the water was gorgeous. It was fun to climb around on the rocks and hang out down there. I definitely recommend this park!

Slide Rock State Park is about a 15 or so minute drive north of Sedona. If you have some time and are looking to go somewhere outdoors, I'd say it is worth it. I only spent about an hour or so there and I felt like it was enough time. When the weather is warmer, there is a river that you can swim down but it was still beautiful to see in the winter. There are also some impressive rock formations and hiking trails if you want to spend more time there.

February in AZ! The water was 41 degrees, yet my children had a blast at Slide Rock! So much fun! Can't wait to visit again in the summer! Such a gorgeous place!

State Parks are a real deal, but this one has the best added perk: a naturally made water slide. And oh what a slide it is.....the most breath taking, I mean literally, water slide ever! The snow melt brings water from the mountains down this naturally slippery slope. So hike a bit up the hill along time honed smooth rocks, wait your turn and jump in. You are in for the ride of your life. You will be laughing and shivering at the same time, but don't just go once. Do it over and over again, you won't regret it. (Make sure to take pictures)

Summertime is the peak season for this attraction it would seem. We have only seen it during the other seasons but I would imagine summertime would be CRAZY busy here at the natural slides and the river. The entire Oak Creek area is very scenic and enjoyable. If you have kids and teens the Slide Rock Park would be a fun way to spend a day.

We stopped at Slide Rock State Park on our way to the Sedona Half Marathon. It was raining, however, the park was soooo beautiful. We took lots of pictures!! Sedona is the most beautiful place God created on the planet!!

There are dozens of lovely hikes in the Sedona area. Slide Rock is for slip sliding away, and the air temp had better be close to body temp, because the water temp sure isn't. This means it is most popular in summer, which makes parking difficult, and water quality atrocious. Too many humans and not enough fast water is an anaerobic breeding ground. If you can find a lightly populated warm summer day, it can be a blast. Keep in mind the same weathering that makes the rock fun to slide down, makes it easy to slip and fall.
