We were there in February so we drove our car along this road to see the most spectacular views. It's open until March 1 for car travel. There are no words to describe the views.

Lookout points are extended so you get a great view. The negative is no parking for your car so you have to take the suttle

Easy walk perfectly for kids and older people.Take half a day to enjoy the spectacular view, take time to rest and plan it that you are there for the sunset, this is awesome whenthe Canyon gets red colored.

The Hermit trail is a great way to see the park in the off season since you can drive your personal car there until March 1st. We saw elk every day and we saw the idiots approaching within five feet of the elk. I never saw a park ranger on any of our trips.

Traveling off season we were able to drive ourselves down the Hermit Trail, something you can not do most of the year. With many opportunities to pull off and park, the many views and perspectives of the canyon were seemingly endless. at the end is the Hermits rest which offers limited facilities and a gift shop, oh of course, more spectacular views!!

You will like to be an hermit in this place. Is the western part, still have a view fo the river. We drove and walked that for my age was the best. Need to be equipped, good shoes, and water.

This location was kind of hard to find at first. The signs to get there were confusing. We finally asked someone. Also the traffic near the hotels and train station was bad. Along the way traffic also was stopping for the Elk Herd grazing just on either side of the road. Although the Park prohibits anyone to approach the animals, every got out of their cars and took pics.

The pass will allow you access to areas of the park not typically available to private vehicles. So worth it. Those with limited mobility can see almost everything right from the car.

This hike to us 5 hours round trip and we only saw 4 other hikers. The beginning of the trail is rough. We were told it was rock scrambling, but that doesn't begin to describe it. It was extremely difficult to hike down the "cobblestone" path. For once, hiking up and out was easier. The destination (Dripping Springs) was nothing to write home about, but the solitude and views made this hike a must do.

10 miles of flat trails, beautiful views, and the option to ride the bus if necessary. Many amazing views of the canyon!

Take the time to explore the Hermit Trail while at the south rim of the Grand Canyon. Accessible only by bus, bike or on foot, it's got some great trails and views.

A must if you visit the southern rim of Grand Canyon. We took the shuttle bus to the first stop and walked about 4 miles and then took the bus to Hermits Rest.

My sister and I were very lucky with the cooler temperatures. We took the shuttle out to Hermit's Rest and hiked back to the Grand Canyon Lodge. The total distance traveled for this hike was around 8 miles. As one would expect, the trail head shows amazing views of the Grand Canyon. But the real bonus is the relatively few other tourists that you run into along this trail.

It doesn't provide better view of grand canyon, but it has restroom and food court in red but route.

Great walking trails along rim of canyon. Best to visit the Grand Canyon during off season to avoid the crowds. The park busses get very crowded and you may have to wait for the 2nd or third bus at each stop that you choose to make.
