We took out of town friends on the tour. It was fun as well as educational. The staff was very friendly and answered all out questions. It was amazing to see how much work goes into a dairy. Fun for the whole family.

I recently took the farm tour with my 9 month old daughter, 3 year old nephew, and my in-laws, and it was great!! It was fun (for kids and adults) to ride on the cow painted tram and to be part of the heard. The tour guide gave many interesting facts and the little stop at the dairy product playground was great! Super idea to help the little ones get their energy out. From the playground it was just a short little walk across the road to the milking barn where you could see 200 cows being milked at once! We also got to watch a movie about what happens at the Shamrock Farms Processing Plant in Phoenix; it defiantly showed me that Shamrock Farms is a great local brand that I plan to buy more of. After another ride we stopped to see and pet 2 month old calves. It was so exciting for my nephew. The smell around the farm was pretty strong, but the farm itself was clean. There were many annoying flies though. After the tour we went back the the welcome barn to get some milk, we also got some hot dogs and ice cream. It's a little out of the way (we went 110 miles one way) but very worth it.

I visited with my 10 yo daughter and her 9yo friend on 05/18/2013. The tour takes you on a tram through the farm. A guide speaks over speakers and tells you all sorts of interesting facts. You stop off at a small dairy-inspired playground great for picture taking and then enter into the milking barn where you see 200 cows getting mechanically milked at a time. Then you watch a 10 minute video about what happens to the milk afterwards. Then you return to the tram and drive through the barns and make a stop to pet some young calves. Then it's over. You return to the visitors center where you can get milk, ice cream, and snacks. The tour seemed quick and a little rushed, but overall was worth the price we paid (deal chicken $25 for tour, lunch & ice cream for 4). I'm not sure what the price is otherwise. It was educational and cool. However, it is all outdoors so I don't recommend it in the summer due to heat, smell, and flies. Closed Sundays and Mondays. FOLLOW directions on their website so you don't get lost!!!

So I came into this with low expectations. We were visiting my parents, and they came up with the brilliant idea that my 3-year old daughter (their grand-daughter) would like to tour a dairy. To be honest, I wasn't excited. It was going to stink to high heaven, it was going to be gross, and who wants to go walk around cows anyway?I was flat out wrong. It didn't stink, nearly at all; it was actually quite clean; and the tour was very interesting. Yes, there are elements that could be construed as a giant advertisement for Shamrock Farms, but if you drive all the way out there for the tour, you already know who they are. And for the most part, the tour was educational and informative. You even got to pet and feed (if you found one that was hungry) baby calves. And by "baby", I mean, they were born earlier that day.You do get one free milk (any flavor) with the tour, and I'd suggest getting the ice cream as well, as it was good, and welcome after the tour. I'm surprised I'm the first person to review this, but I would suggest it to anyone who is remotely interested. It's a drive out there, but it was worth it in the end. Not at all what I expected.
