This was a highlight. Make sure you explore the town and stop at Jerome as well. I had just read "Empty Mansions" which made the visit enen more enjoyable.

The best $9 we spent on our trip! Fascinating place to go and check out, we stumbled over it as we needed to get out of bad weather. Friendly, attentive and knowledgeable staff. Absolutely worth a look if you are in the area, this place deserves to thrive..

The museum was a total joy. The exhibits were fantastic, the people wonderful. The historic nature of the museum (an old high school) is nicely incorporated into the museum. Even the town has nice historical facts about the town, and it's namesake. If you are in the area, this is a must see!

This is a fantastic museum in the heart of copper country: Arizona. You will learn of the origin of copper, its chemical make-up, its history, its uses over the centuries and a lot more. The displays are very well done, and the educational information is concise and easy to read. There are sections devoted to the use of copper during war times, use in religious art, cooking, jewelry and more. There is also a special glass display showing how different colors are created with different metal additive. Copper use in the making of wines is also well explained. This museum is housed in a high school that was opened in 1928 in Clarkdale, AZ. It has been refurbished in many ways.If Drake is working at the museum he will explain anything about copper to the museum visitors. He truly knows a wealth of information about copper. Thank you Drake!

Went to this "amazing museum" with several members of a historical group. Some had been there before and felt we should see it. A truly unbelievable museum that contains a lot of, not only copper history, but history of our country.

My wife and I saw this place and said "What the Heck?" Well whata wonderful surprise. I will not give it away but if you are in the Verde Valley take the time to visit this museum. Only complaint is not all exhibits are marked as to what they are but the volunteers are working on that and were doing so as we went through. You will be amazed at what is in this museum. Loved it.

What an interesting place hidden away in a tiny town in Arizona. Learned so many things about copper that I never knew. So many different art pieces, functional pieces and the story about how copper has been used in art just blew me away. If you have the chance on the trip up to Jerome stop by here. Not far from Jerome at all.

Fascinating museum, lovingly curated and thoughtfully displayed. The owner, Drake, is a delight and always chock full of interesting info and enthusiasm. Though I am a Clarkdale resident and thought I was pretty well informed about my town's copper-mining history, a visit to this museum put a whole new spin on the importance of copper, its amazing properties, and its historical significance worldwide. The setting within the 1928-built former Clarkdale High School adds to the unique ambience. Each classroom has been converted to a different facet of copper and its myriad uses. Both educational and artistically inspired/inspiring. Well worth a visit

This year old museum, set in the former Clarkdale High School is a lot of fun. Well worth the $5 admission fee, the rooms of copper pots, pans, stoves, drinking vessals, military art (fahioned in WWI trenches) and Architectural features, are well worth seeing. You also learn a lot about copper. The museum is hands on ("please touch"). Your hour there will be a lot of fun.

On our way back from a visit to Jerome we stopped in a copper shop along the hillside and were amazed at the amount of items offered. It was there we learned of the museum in the old High School. Owning a single piece of copper at home, we are not exactly huge fans of it, but we decided to stop in and have a look. We were greeted by Drake upon arrival, paid a few dollars to get in and are so very glad we did! From the floors, to each and every display, everything was done in excellence. From architectural pieces to kitchenware this museum delivered on items we had no idea existed. In addition to the amazing examples of copper were countless pieces of artillery shell art (have never seen a group of them like this) and chocolate molds, primarily featuring Santa Clause. The education we received and the overall experience of the facility left us with an entirely new appreciation for copper. Again, a finer example of a private museum we have never seen. A truly impressive effort!

It was not only educational but fun. Brought back lots of learning memories and learned more than expected going in the special rooms. I was pleasantly surprised how everything was presented and the attendant's willingness to answer our questions. I highly recommend the visit and will bring my visitors from out of town for a visit.

A really great hidden gem! This museum could be in any big city, but no, here it is in tiny Clarkdale, AZ. And for very good reason. This place was once the copper capital of the US. And this is a surprisingly great museum with a wealth of information that will leave you saying "really? that's amazing". So, if you come to Clarkdale for the wonderful Verde Valley train ride ( another product of the copper industry here), take a couple of extra hours to stop at this museum just down the road from the depot. You'll be very glad you did. Sedona tourists: this museum, the train, and wonderful Old Town Cottonwood are just around the corner. The Red Rocks are stupendous (I live there) but don't miss this great chance to experience the real old West and the copper history that goes with it.

This is a must-see stop for anyone looking for things to do in the Sedona area. We went there for the first time today and were just blown away by the extensiveness and quality of the museum. It is art, history and science all rolled into one fascinating experience. Highly recommended!

The proprietor of the museum met us at the entrance, and caught up with us several times to answer our questions. He actually purchased items from all around the world. The displays are unbelievably clever and informative. You must see this place. The history of copper in science, history, cooking and war is fascinating.

Fantastic place to have a party! We had our Christmas party there and we were given an interesting tour of the museum! 5 stars!
