Great running trails in the winter, beware of the snakes in the warm weather. And when they say the trails close at 4:30, take that seriously, or you'll be crawling over a eight foot fence to get back to your vehicle.

This is a free trail. It was fun and educational for us and our 4 year old. The Animals didn't shy away or hide but seemed to want to observe us as much as we observed them. The river otter followed us around his cage. The reptile house had local snakes and was a great opportunity to teach our daughter. It's FREE and it's FUN.

I love the grounds! The gardens are beautiful, the trails are lovely and the animals are interesting. The carved trees are great! There are acorns, a frog, an owl, an alligator. Lots of room for kids to run off energy!

How can it not be five stars if it's free? I've visited several times and always enjoy a nice walk through the woods with family to look at the animals. The cages are kept clean and the animals appear well. Don't skip the children's garden with a nice but nearly hidden display of pitcher plants. If you have or behave like a small child then bring quarters to purchase food you can throw to the animals as well as the fish/turtles in the pond. You can't bring in outside food for the animals. Pets or bikes are not allowed in the animal exhibit area but there are miles of off-road biking trails to enjoy.

These trails were great - a lot of trees and shade. I would return to these trails again very soon. Very convenient to other areas of attractions around the area

Great place to see animals. The trails are very tranquil and kept up amazingly. A must see! The entrance is just a few miles away from High Falls State Park and Indian Springs State Park.

I took a friend to Dauset Trails yesterday. She had never been before, and she thoroughly enjoyed seeing it. Although I've been several times, this place never ceases to amaze me. It's clean and easy to walk, and the animals are clearly cared for very, very well. This is a terrific place to take children because they can enjoy both the animals and nature at Dauset Trails. Bring a picnic lunch because they provide several tables right by the lake.

Dauset Trails is a great privately ran "nature park" of sorts in Jackson. The main entrance (gates) leads to a small zoo and a nice nature building. The other entrance leads to the mountain biking trails. There are three main mountain biking trails one is about 3.3 miles the other 11 I think and then one that's about 20. I often run on the 3.3 mile trail. They are connected, so you could make up a route with 5 miles if you wanted. There is also a cute chapel that I believe is rented out for weddings and other "religious events." There is camping available for groups as well.

This is a fantastic place. It is a place that your whole family will enjoy coming to. You don't need to stop at a fast food restaurant. There are plenty of picnic tables to enjoy your meal or you can use one of the grills to cook your meal. Kids love being able to see all of the live animals. There are plenty of opportunities for pictures. My family loves to come here a few times each year. My boys love to see the otters, turtles, owls, foxes, reptiles, cougar, and all the other animals. If you are looking for a great spot to take your family for the day and not spend a lot of money, this is a spot that you will treasure. You will like it so much that you will want to come back.

This place was great! My 2 and 12 year old liked it. There are picnic tables for lunch by the water. Very pretty here we will definitely be coming back. Parking is a bit tight I had a hard time backing out of the parking space.

We were visiting Indians Springs State Park and stoped in a little store the owner told us about it and we were very glad she did. It's not a place we would have found on our own. They have great gardens, live animals it just nature at it's best. Loved it and it was free to enter. It's like a beautiful natural zoo and park combined. Bring your own snacks and drinks with you as they do not have a concession stand.

We couldn't believe that this place is free. It is very well kept. Great landscape. Amazing variety of animals which includes black bear, cougar, red fox, owls, reptiles, etc. We missed the bison though. Young and teenage children thoroughly enjoy this place.
