I stopped in the museum first. Was immediately greeted by Jenny, a very friendly and sweet young girl who runs the museum. We had a great talk about history and she shared a lot about the area both past and present. Then I walked the bridge. Very neat! Would be careful with small kids and there are lots of tripping hazards and places for them to get their foot stuck. Adults need to be careful too. Glad it's all the way it was though. They are restoring the mill which is great to see the improvement to the area.

Great opportunity to inspect typical wood-constructed covered bridge. Great for families and a good day-trip destination, especially if fisitors would enjoy a meal at Johnny Mitchell's Smokehouse, located about a block away. Latter has topnotch BBQ.

This is a wonderful covered bridge, in good shape, with a small museum close by. It is well worth a visit.

This bridge has been maintained well enough to walk across and is a magnificent display of architecture. If you visit between mid-November and the end of the year, it's a great place to take holiday pictures. It's decorated for the season and makes a nice historic backdrop for postcards or e-cards.

This is a beautiful spot to spend time watching water running, kids playing and enjoy good food. The bridge is closed to vehicle traffic so walking across the bridge and looking down into the water is easy and safe. There is a paved footpath along the water itself, and the last time I was there, kids were playing in the water. Glad we have swimmable rivers! Go, walk the bridge and eat down the road at Johnny Mitchell's Smokehouse.

The Euharlee Covered Bridge, the oldest covered bridge in Georgia, built in 1886, has been well maintained and is the center of a complex which includes a history museum, the ruins of an old electric plant, and a visitor's well. The bridge, spanning 138 feet across the Euharlee Creek is open to pedestrian traffic with steps down to the ruins. For anyone interested in touring covered bridges, this is one worth seeing. Euharlee is just a few miles west of I75 at the Cartersville exit.

The Bridge is open to walk--be careful--I almost lost a flip flop through the cracks! We were here too early for the place next door to be open, but there was also some Civil War Historical things to look at. It was fun just taking a break on our long roadtrip from Wisconsin to Florida. It reminded me of the movie Stand By Me. The roads out to Euhlaree are fairly curvy and scenic. If it hadn't been raining we would have done our picnic here for sure!
