Amazing place full of unexpected alleys and plazas. Turn a corner and something new and unexpected opens up in front of you. So many places to eat, buy groceries or get a coffee. Don't be afraid to explore the little alleys to see what you find. Often this is where the bargain places to eat are as they don't get the flow through of traffic I guess. For people with standard mobility there are no access issues and whilst we are very safety conscious and took all appropriate precautions, we really did feel quite safe. We loved staying in the district and hope to come back often.

Like walking on to a film set - this area is full of warmth and atmosphere. Really special. Walking around this area is a sense of the real Barcelona - not touristy - it feels intimate and friendly. A really lovely vibe with some unique wine bars and alleyways. Wonderful.

Tiny winding streets, Great food, coffee, wine bars and fashion. Try a glass of wine at El Soplo and check out the designs at Brain&Beast.

The El Born area is part of the La Ribera district in Barcelona. It s located on the old city and is renowned for its bustling nightlife, restaurants, bars and trendy shops. With old, gothic style architecture, numerous museums & fantastic churches, this is a definite must visit part of Barcelona. Highly recommended!

Stayed at KK Picasso next to the "old market" of El Born, which is a must see. Loved the area with its tapa bars and neat little specialty stores. You stroll around the area, close to so many different cultural things like churches, museums and a wonderful park.

El Born nestles in the old part of Barcelona and has some fab tapas bars - we loved Taberna Del Born where we had steak sizzling on a platter & served with padrón peppers - yum! Not too expensive either, around €60 for 2 including a bottle of wine

This is our favouirite spot in Barcelona. This is the real thing, no shopping malls but small boutiques, lovely narrow streets, small cosy tapas bars, you just have to see it....

Stayed here with my wife for 6 nights for her birthday. The Hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating, offering assistance with everything from where to go and help with the free WIFI which is a plus. There is a small lap pool on the roof should you decide to stay in on a sunny day. Breakfast was not included with my booking but was offered at a discount which we took advantage of. Breakfast itself was a pleasant surprise as it catered to almost everyone's taste, whether you liked Continental or Full Breakfast, there was both a multitude of hot and cold selections, well worth the cost. The room was a nice size and very clean. The beds were comfortable. The bathroom had both a combination tub/shower as well as a stand-alone shower which was very convenient. The water in the shower was hot instantly and stayed hot. The hotel location was perfect and within walking distance to just about anything you may want to do. Admittedly there will be some walking involved, but worth it. The El Born district itself has some hidden treasures that I would advise you to scout out on your own shortly after you get there, we didn't do it until our last night and would have taken advantage of spending a little more time here if we had looked first. When we come back to Spain, this hotel will be our choice again. One word of warning, Taxi drivers may take advantage of you unless you get an estimate from them first.

What a unique area to walk and shop around. Winding, narrow streets with many interesting stores and restaurants. A great place to spend some time.

El Born is a lovely gem of a neighborhood. So many bars and restaurants. You could spend weeks here and never see it all. The small streets and alley ways are so quaint. You never know what you will find around the corner.

loved everything about this area, stunning old architecture, lots to see and do, the atmosphere is amazing and the prices are local prices not tourist, it was the only area we relaxed and chilled out on a night. Don't be afraid to join the locals in little cafe bars and pavement gazebos but if you are on a budget avoid the gazebos with fires in them for food as they tend to be alot dearer but fine for drinks. there is alot less english speakers but sign language and pointing to pictures gets you there eventually. lol.x

This is a very different area of Barcelona compared to the hustle and bustle you see in the bigger areas. They have very little traffic in this area, and it's a nice area to stop and see some ruins and get some pretty darn good tapas. We truly enjoyed our stop here.
