The Science Centre Delft not only disentangles mysteries behind the scenes of Delft University of Technology to the layman but it also shows a reflection of recent research and student projects. The real challenge is exploring the many replicas of the real research equipment that are continuously available, or even attending a Workshop focussed on the design of a miniature version of the famous Nuna solar car, the balancing robot or a participation in the Lego Revolution Robotlab. Making snowflakes out of styrofoam and building a Winter Cottage with LED lights are available for the youngsters.

We have been there beginning December and our children have enjoyed so much that they wanted to go back again! Everything in Dutch (strange, isn't it?) but lovely students explaining everything. I suggest to book before some of the talleres, they deserve it. You can easily spend there up to 3 hours.

For a science aficionado, it is a very good place to visit. Since I am a TU student, it was free for me. The museum showcases all the various innovations made by the students of the Delft University of Technology. One major problem is that all the explanations in the information boards are all in Dutch, but the staff are ready to help. Not a very big museum, but worth a visit if you are interested in Science.

Take a canal boat trip to look at the city from a different angle, look for a restaurant outside the "Grote Markt". But visit the chuch(Nieuwe kerk) where the all the Dutch royals are burried.

The Delft science center is attached to the technological university of Delft. The people working there are all students. This makes visiting very insightful because every individual guide will be able to tell you something special from his or her field of expertise. A definite location to visit if you want your kids to learn more about technology in a playful way.

While I studied in Delft, it took me a few years to discover rhe sciense centre! My 12 year old nephew was visiting and I googled stuff to do while he was here. The science centre turned out to be a fantastic choice! It is super interactive and defintely offers kids something new. From the concept of magnetic levitation to the aerodynamic design of cargo ships and an impressive flight simulator: both our nephew as my husband and I were well entertained for 1.5 to 2 hours! The center is probably best for kids between 9 and 13.

The Science Centre is housed in one of the ca. 1910 buildings that, for a long time, formed the heart of the Technical University of Delft. Here, a broad range of minor and major inventioned by the many students of the university are shown, which give a nice overview how discoveries can take place. Guided tours of the exhibition are possible, which are done by senior students of the university. Last but not least, there is ample room to play around with the inventions - which makes the Science Centre a cool place for kids.

Science Centre Delft is het leukste museum voor het hele gezin. Van jong tot oud kan je leuke en vooral interessante dingen doen. Techniek wordt gewoon heel leuk.

Nemo in Amsterdam is natuurlijk veel groter maar dicht op de echter onderzoeksvloer van de TU, voel je dat dit veel 'echter' is. Hier minder opsmuk maar de voer voor de ware onderzoeker zonder afbreuk te doen aan de sensationele wijze dit zichtbaar te maken. Toegegeven; het is vooral een walhalla voor jongens tussen de 7 en 12 maar ieder ander kan zich hier ook geweldig vermaken. Wij komen zeker terug. Voor de bespottelijke prijs hoef je het niet te laten.

Dit museum is niet zo heel groot, maar wel bijzonder interactief, je kunt alles pakken en uitproberen, daarnaast zijn er diverse workshops onder deskundige begeleiding. Het personeel bestaat uit studenten van de TU Delft, die heel erg behulpzaam zijn. Parkeren is gratis en gemakkelijk om de hoek. Het enige aandachtspunt is dat de uitgelegde materie vrij ingewikkeld is, eigenlijk beter geschikt voor gemotiveerde middelbaar scholieren dan voor basisschoolleerlingen. Al met al heel interessant en leerzaam.

Op zich wel een leuk en interessant museum, maar als volwassen stel zonder kinderen loop je er een beetje verloren bij. Er liepen echter genoeg kinderen met hun ouders die zich wel prima vermaakten, dus ik denk dat wij gewoon niet de doelgroep zijn. Geeft niet, maar ben wel blij dat de entree mij als museumkaarthouder niets kost. Het museum is erg gericht op dingen doen en zelf ondernemen. Zo is er een vliegsimulator en een voertuig zonder wielen. Ook is er een ruimte waar je met lego je eigen wolkenkrabber kunt bouwen. Hiernaast zijn er een aantal lokalen waar workshops gegeven worden.
