the church is special in so many ways. I was born in this town and spent my first 16 years here. It took 45 years in Australia and a holiday trip back for me to see the inside of this truly magnificent church. This is a visit truly worth while. Don't miss the graves you will be walking on, as in the early years they buried important people in the church. Frans Hals being one of those buried there.

Personnally am not that fond of the architecture... But a visit is nevertheles worthy the walk... Try to pick a moment of one of the numerious orgue-concert!! This orgue is famous.

Neither an interesting Church to visit, nor an interesting neighborhood. The Church is built in the early 1900 years, no specific points of interest for a foreigner.

OK. there was a lot of drilling and refurbishing going on, but still...it is not what I expected. Has that walking on tombs of forefathers aspect. Not well appointed either. Skip it!

This church was our first stop in Haarlem, the size is really impressive and the outside architecture really different. Inside thre are some unusual things for churches like the small boats hanging from the columns. There is an organ that was played by young Mozart inside.

The church is beautiful. A lot of stained glass and sculptures to entertain yourself. There is a massive organ that was impressive. It was a small fee to tour it. It was good value. We rode bikes there from a neighbor city. There is plenty of bike parking around. My sons' want you to know about the outdoor bathroom attached to the church. It looks like a decorative metal gate until you walk behind it and see the drain. Only in Europe.

I loved Haarlem, it's a gorgeous place and had a lovely feel to it. The cathedral is an impressive building- worth the visit.

Highlight is Christain Muller organ which was played by Mozart and G.F. Handel. Liked the historical aspects of the church, some of which dated back to 1434.

What a beautiful church -- even though there is a 2.50 Euro charge for admission. The brochure provided the highlights and made our visit more informative.

The Church with its stained glass is in itself impressive. And then the Organ. Purportedly the largest Pipe Organ in The Netherlands. Another one of the reasons to spend a day in Haarlem.

We arrived an hour before the 7pm mass, so we had time to walk around the church. There is an exhibit of ancient chasubles (decorated capes) some of which date back to about 600AD. The Saturday night mass is held in the chapel and not the main church. I wish that I could have gone to the mass on Sunday morning because the pianist who played on Saturday was also the organist for the Sunday. The music helped us to pray and be thankful.

This cathedral is a little more austere in its art than a Catholic one, but makes up for it in the emphasis it gives to music. The organ is gigantic and beautiful. I only wish someone had played it when I visited. The low-cost admission fee includes a leaflet in several languages that explains the different features. The cathedral is the central attraction of a large square where you can have a meal or beverage and contemplate the exterior of the cathedral.

There are some beautiful stained glass windows and a wonderful atmosphere. Great sounding organ. Good leaflet explaining the main feature of the building.
