Fantastic tour for any Beatles fan and with the most knowledgeable host in Roag, you cannot miss this. It's out of the city centre but I would urge you to make the short journey and learn how it all began, where it all began..

Having Neil Aspinil as a dad and Pete Best as a brother, Roags stories and knowledge was invaluable to listen to. He was so accomodating as we changed the day and time at short notice to a Sunday, cannot recommend highly enough to any beatles lover. It was such a personal tour! Loved every minute. Thanks!

A brilliantly informative couple of hours spent with the wonderful Roag.He is a fabulous English eccentric - my perfect person. And I so wish I could have met his mum. Mo sounds like she was a lady who was just like me.....didn't take "no" for an answer :)For anyone who is in anyway a Beatles fan, the Casbah is an absolute must. The true beginnings of the Beatles.A group of teenage lads helping with the decorating and learning their trade with a fantastic woman behind them supporting them all the way.Thanx Roag for an amazing tour :)

Roage was our tour guide and he was brilliant. He involved us all in his talk, and checked we were listening with a little bit of role play which kept us all entertained. Check this place out, it is where it all began, as you will find out for yourselves admiring the decorating and John and Pauls choice of colours for the celings they were assigned to paint!

This is a fantastic experience for any music lover! Roag really tells the story of the Casbah Coffee club with such great passion and personality, his stories really do come to life as you move on through the Club. The Casbah Coffee club is a hidden treasure and the tour really was fantastic, worth every penny. I will cannot speak highly enough of this experience. Thank you!!

Any Beatles fan needs to visits this place. We did this tour as part of the Fab Four taxi tour which was also second to none! Could not believe how raw and untouched everything was, or how much freedom to roam around there is. Rogue was excellent in the delivery of his stories! The place is amazing and deserves recognition for its place in the making of the Beatles. Didn't realise there was so much we hadn't learned about before. If you are planning a trip to Liverpool or booking a tour you have got to check this place out!

Really can't do this place justice! Absolutely coated in history of the band and offers a unique look at the early years of the band forming. The information is delivered by quite possibly one of the best tour guides I've encountered who uses his close family connections to deliver unusual and interesting facts. 5/5 and is a must for any Beatle fan in the city

The tour was fascinating and very atmospheric. Roag told the story of the Casbah Coffee Club in a very personable way. He is obviously very proud of his family's connections with it. Thanks very much.

I loved this tour. It really gives you an in to see what it was like in the 50s and 60s, not to mention it gives a real idea of the origin of the Beatles. This is where it all began for them and it is neat being able to see it with your own eyes. Roag is an awesome tour guide, very animated and comical. Also very passionate about the information and knowledge he shared with us. If you're in Liverpool, definitely pay this place a visit!

While I have been to a number of Beatles related sights in Liverpool, Hamburg, and New York City, this tour of the Casbah Coffee Club has to be by far the best Beatles related experience you could treat yourself to. Our tour lasted over an hour and we had plenty of time to wander around and take photographs once Roag Best (brother of Pete and son of Neil Aspinall) gave us an entertaining and exciting personal tour. This was one of the places that you always hear being whispered about in Beatles mythology and you can see parts of it replicated in other museums like in the Beatles Story. But to see it in the flesh felt like truly hallowed ground. Despite being a Beatles fan and Beatles scholar, these early days of Pete and the Beatles' career was a time period I knew very little about. Hearing what it was like back in the day as the bands played and the queues stretched down the street really brought the history to life, again made all the more exciting by Roag's storytelling. This hidden gem is really excellent value for money and it is a bit of a ways out of the city centre. The group size was very small too which made for a more intimate, personalized feeling. Host Roag Best is a genuinely nice guy who tells the Casbah's tale as if for the first time or as if a mate down the pub. You really get that sense of Liverpool's small town feel. So rather than be herded through other over priced attractions why not venture off the beaten path and give the Casbah Coffee Club a look in for an authentic, fab time!

A very atmospheric place. 8 Haymans Green West Derby is a very substantial house with a cellar which was converted in the late 50's to a coffee bar by the owner Mona Best. First band to play there were John, Paul, George and .....Ken, aka The Beatles!! The rooms were decorated by the fab 3 in a homespun diy style, but still make the hairs on the back of your neck stand up! For Beatle nuts and history buffs this is well worth a visit. The eldest son of the house - one Pete Best - became the Beatles drummer but lost out to Ringo just before they hit the big time - and the rest, as they say, is history.......

I travelled to Liverpool in January to celebrate my birthday by "doing" the Beatles, amongst other things, and though the Casbah website says tours are only given for a minimum of 15 people, I emailed and was booked in, only to find Roag very kindly gave me my very own personal tour. He was a mine of information, and infectiously enthusiastic about his subject, and he allows time at the end, while he disappears upstairs "for a smoke", to go over everything again at your own pace and to take as many photos as you like, which was great. The house itself is no longer occupied so looks a bit scruffy and even derelict (probably not helped by the gloomy January weather), but the cellar had a light on even though I arrived before Roag, and the flagstones with handprints and names outside was good. Also no pressure at all to buy anything, though there are T-shirts, mugs and books for those that want them. This was genuinely where the Beatles started, and all credit to Mona, mother of Pete Best and Roag. An absolute must for Beatles fans, so much more intimate than the other attractions like the Cavern Club and The beatles Story museums, though these are totally worth a visit too.

It was an absolute THRILL to tour the Casbah Coffee Club. To see the ceilings that were hand-painted by John, Paul and George was amazing, and the wall where these words were hand carved...John was here. Rory Best (Pete's brother) took us on the tour and told us so many stories about the younger days of the Beatles. He told us about his interesting family and the story of how the Casbah was "born". You must take this tour if you are a Beatle fan. It was great. This is something I would go back to see again.

I've lived in Liverpool for 33 years and I have no idea why I've only just visited the Casbah Coffee Club. A brilliant tour and £15 well spent. Roag Best is excellent, he tells the story of the Casbah with excitement and makes you want to hear more and more. It's amazing to see a place that hasn't been used hardly at all since the very early 1960's. Amazing to see the Beatles art work on the ceiling and John Lennon's carving of his name (on the wall and ceiling). You get a proper feel of the place and what it must have been like back then.Forget the Cavern, this is a must for any lover of the Beatles.

Rogue was a hoot! The old house was drenched in Beatle history! Everything seemed to be well documented and Rogue gives a very animated tour.
