My first time here was the first time I had sat on anything for a good several months. They made me feel very welcome. All the staff are polite and friendly. All the horses have great manners and do not put a foot wrong. The routes they use for a hacking are good, safe routes. Thanks to the staff I have gained my confidence back while riding and find it great fun again. I can't wait for my next ride to come quick enough. Also, thanks to the staff for all their encouragement I may be soon ready for a gallop.Thank you guys!!!

Our first visit to Derbyshire pony trekking and we had an amazing time, I never stopped smiling the entire time. I rode Rosie who was so calm and gentle a real confidence giver, my sons girlfriend rode Rocket who was equally as good. We were able to have a little trot as we were at the back, which was for me excellent as a beginner. We will be going back Jayne and her team were so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Fantastic day thank you see you again very soon.
Dozyday
What a brilliant morning we had. Myself & my daughter Nic hadn't ridden for a number of years (too many to mention!)but as soon as we arrived we both felt comfortable. We was placed with our suitable mounts before setting off for an exhilarating ride through woodland & tracks that was ideal for trotting & a few- long forgotten canters. Jane & her staff made us so welcome which I thank you all for, also Annette who accompanied is on our ride out. We will definatly go again but don't warn the horses!!!! Thanks again Susan & Nicola

My friend and I travelled from Stoke on Trent and Walsall for a pub ride. Suffice to say we will be back asap to see some more of the lovely off road riding the country park has to offer. Lovely April was a perfect mount, calm, steady but push button when needed and my friend fell so in love with her mount she has vowed to go back without waiting for me to organise my availability. How rude? Thank you and will see you soon accompanied by some additional friends eager for fun and steady canters x

Just had a fantastic morning out on Rufus the Rascle. Myself and mum had not been riding for 15 years but now cant wait to go again! Everything was perfect from the moment we got there, the gate to the yard was opened for us, everybody in the yard greeted us with happy, smiley friendly faces, Jane was brilliant, she took time to find out our riding abilities and what we wanted to do out on the trek. Rufus was comical and lived upto his name, trying to grab a bite to eat on the was round! Overall a brilliant morning!!! Would highley recommend to all riding abilities. A BIG Thankyou to Jane and the team (and the horses!!!!) looking forward to booking again soon!

I went there on Sat 7th of Feb with a friend. We were both beginners. The place is at a short walk from "Langwith - Whaley Thorns" train station. Very easy to reach. Jayne welcomed us and introduced us to our horses, Leo and Heidi. After a brief introduction on the basic commands for walking, stopping and turning, we went to the nearby fields for a hour trek. The countryside was very enjoyable and all the staff very friendly and knowledgeable. It was a beautiful and relaxing experience. Highly recommended. We will be back!

Me and a friend went on a one hour trek a couple of weeks ago and I can't recommend it highly enough! Jayne and Zoe were so friendly and knowledgable and took the time to find out our riding ability before picking a horse out for each of us.It's good that they cater for all levels of ability - from absolute beginner to an experienced rider. The four of us went out on the trek and the countryside was amazing - and so peaceful! The horses were really well behaved and made it a very enjoyable ride! Will definitely be returning again!

Myself and my friend have just spent a lovely Sunday morning riding through the countryside around Mansfield with Zoe from Derbyshire pony trekking. We are both beginners and were a little nervous before the ride but as soon as we got to the stables and met our ponies (Heidi and bluebell) our nerves started to disappear. The staff at the stables are very friendly and they really put us at ease. Zoe was brilliant and had loads of patience with us as well as giving clear guidance and instruction. We chose the 1hr 30 min ride which I would definately recommend as you get to see so much and we even had a little trot. My advice if you are going in the winter months is wrap up warm because it gets pretty chilly on the hills :)

Friendly experienced staff, thanks Jane and Zoe. Lovely horses and ponies. Scenic countryside. This is great for one offs if visiting the area, or for more regular fixes of equine experiences. Not ridden for years and was nervous, felt really well looked after by professionally run establishment. See you again soon

Had such a wonderful time at derbyshire pony trekking today. Me my partner and 5year old daughter went along for out first experience. My partner and daughter did the actual pony trek for 1hour they were both complete beginers and had such a great time everything was explained realy well and they were made to feel completely at ease, i walked along side (due to health reasons) and the trek went at a steady pace for me walking with them. Easy to find and a Lovely greeting on arrival by the staff. A lovely small family run establishment with very friendly staff and beautiful horses/poniesTrek lasted 1hour which was just right for my partner and 5year old Great value for money and will deffinately be visiting again later in the year. Already recommended to several friends. Thankyou for a very enjoyable dayX sophie jamie and tia X

I have never smiled so much in a whole year.It was one of the best things I have ever done, the whole experience was great ,the staff were extremely smiley, they catered for total beginners and also for more advanced. But the thing that made it so special were the ponies. They were all fantastic and well behaved, I have been on lots of horses and ponies in riding stables but these are the best behaved. Definitely going again soonI personally recommend it x

Had such a brilliant afternoon riding out with my sister at Derbyshire Pony Trekking yesterday! We were lucky enough to get the chance to have a ride in the snow which was something we'd never done before despite riding for several years! The ponies were fabulous and I was so impressed by how well behaved they are- you instantly feel safe on them and they are a pleasure to ride! Jayne and Zoe are excellent, friendly guides and are obviously passionate about ensuring an enjoyable experience for all. Could not recommend enough, I cannot wait to come back again soon!
