Being good little Jan Austen fans, my daughter and I were intrigued to visit. The entrance fee gave us pause, but heck, it's not like we will be in Bath again soon. So we took the plunge. Lucky we did! The house is decorated with appropriate period pieces. A docent staffed each room and they were friendly, informative, and anxious to answer all questions. We left with a much better understanding of life in that era. An excellent visit.

This was a fascinating attraction. The building was spotless and the guides very informative and interesting to listen to; it wasn't all about dates and name dropping but more the every day lives of a Georgian person, really interesting.

Visiting No 1 The Crescent offers a well thought out and structured experience enhanced by the friendly and knowledgeable guides. The tour starts with a short video introducing you to No 1 and its residents and then you move through into the house itself. The house was very well presented and the information cards which were given on entry to each room gave just enough information and enhanced the very smart little booklets we were given with our tickets which gave a brief overview of each room. If you wanted to know more the guides were very friendly and offered their knowledge freely. If they didn't know they found out or offered you the extra information they had for you to read.At the end of the tour there is a gallery upstairs with more information and displays and a small shop on the ground floor. All in all it made for a really interesting visit and offered an insight into social history and what it was like to live in the Georgian period as well as the usual antiques and displays. We really enjoyed our visit and would recommend No 1 The Crescent to other visitors.

A wonderful example of Georgian architecture and life, both above and below stairs. Beautifully restored. The reception staff were very helpful and informative and a short film sets the scene before you start the visit. There is a lot of information in the rooms but I found the room guides were very happy to talk and were all friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic.I can visit again within the next year on my ticket and I shall definitely be back.

Not really my cup of tea, it was the wife's choice but I did find it interesting and the staff on most floors were very knowledgeable. It would have been nice to have the audio guides like the bath's but I would recommend talking to the guides as they have far more knowledge than on the room card guides. Don't go to late as it can be dark as they don't have any extra lights in the rooms.

Touring the house was fascinating and both the written guides and the human room guides were excellent. However the display about the Bath Preservation Group opened my eyes to so much. Had it not been for these people in the 1960s and 70s and since then so much history could have been lost. Thank goodness for them.

Really worth walking up to No. 1. Much like walking into Highclair (Downton Abbey). The furnishings are beautiful, including the harpsichord which is on loan from the private owner. Kitchen was well worth seeing - with so many smart amenities.

I particularly likes the women volunteers in the kitchen and the dining room. Interesting and friendly. The woman volunteer in the drawing room like the one in the roman baths couldn't say "I don't know" when asked a question and had to turn it into a "Because I don't know, it's a stupid question" attitude. What's wrong with these people!

We took the city tour bus to stop 10, right outside No. 1 The Crescent. We had been introduced to some of the Georgian architecture along the way, with The Circus and Brock Street....and a 10% discount on the entry with our city bus tour tickets! All the volunteers were very knowledgeable and happy to answer questions.... anything they didn't know they were happy to find out

A glimpse back to days of empire it is beautifully kept and the room guides are very knowledgeable, there are seats around if you are elderly or infirm. there were a few schoolchildren's groups visiting and they were very well behaved.
