A most enjoyable visit on Tuesday 10th of march. Having worked on XH558 when i was stationed at Finningley from 1965-69.Barry's 5 1/2 hour Chat was broken up into two 2 hour sessions and then a final tour round the Hanger and of course close up views of the Vulcan. for anyone who wants to know History of our airborne deterrent from 1945 to 1982 look no further, This is a tour you do not want to miss. After the tour I would suggest the purchase of Rowland Whites Vulcan 607 if you have not already read it. I have read it at least 3 times and still found out things that I was not aware of.A Visit not to be missed.

My husband took me to see the Vulcan on a VIP tour and I absolutely loved it! Our lovely volunteer guide, Janet, was well informed and her knowledge of this beautiful aircraft was impressive. We received a warm welcome from the staff and spent a good 2 hours in the company of one of the most iconic and awesome pieces of British engineering. It was a thrill to be so close and see what a great job all of the engineers are doing to keep this awesome craft in the skies. Such a shame that 2015 may be the last year she will be in flight. Thank you to all who made this trip so memorable for me and my husband - he enjoyed it too!

Booked the Tour as a birthday present for my Vulcan enthusiast Husband, He loved it all, the talk was very informative and then to wander around the Vulcan where he was taking photos to his hearts delight, it was paradise!. As a non enthusiast it was also a very good couple of hours, if you didn't love the Vulcan when you went in you must be very hard hearted not to love her when you come out. A very good value experience. A pleasure to share a few hours with some very enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteers. The only thing I would say is that for very young children it may not be that interesting as the talk is about an hour, however I cannot fault the behaviour and interest of the children that were their on our visit and there were plenty of them!

Well worth the money and you are treated like a VIP. We did this trip for my mother, 77yrs, she loves the aircraft and the time flew by, the staff are friendly and informative. Wish I had been told that there was a shop at the end of the tour as I would have taken more money than I did. The day was most pleasurable for my mother and my sister and I also had a great day, we couldn't thank them enough

Fantastic, very informative, if you are interested in old aircraft, do this. Its a bit pricey as we did the VIP Tour, but in the end we had a private tour, just me, my wife and our very own guide.

I've been involved with this aircraft for some years and thought hubby and I would visit 558 in her hangar to spend some money in the shop and experience the tour in this lovely location. This aircraft has always evoked passion in her supporters and the volunteer who spoke about her didn't let us down. Long may they continue.

Having seen her flying last year twice and hoping to do the same this year, her last year of flying, it was really interesting to see the aircraft in the hangar. The tour started with an hour's talk from a well informed and interesting guy, covering the history, development, cold war and Falklands, as well as the more recent history of this aircraft. We were then free to wander around parts of the aircraft, under the wing and under the bomb bay. You can't go in the cockpit, but you can look up into it from a platform. There were numerous interesting exhibits too, including the pilots' ejection seats and the rear crews' non ejection seats. The shop was open, selling souvenirs, I bought a fleece. There was also a flight simulator which was interesting to use, especially the complex sequence to start the engines. For £12 for an adult and £4 for children this was a very interesting and educational afternoon.

Booked a Technical tour to get a viewing in a smaller group and to help the funds along. We were taken around by Andrew Edmondson who really put across the passion he holds for the plane and keeping it in the air. He was able to answer all of our questions and provide lots of background information about the plane and its service. Do this tour whilst you still can, after this year she will be a hanger queen but still central to the plans that they have for the site. We had the package with the hotel in Bawtree all arranged for us by the Trust. Not to be missed.

This last flying Vulcan bomber from the Cold War era must be seen! The tour my wfe and I were on was led by one of the volunteer guides who presented a myriad of facts about this 55 year-old aircraft, peppered with anecdotes and colour from the people involved in its history. A delight.

If you have never this aircraft up close or in the air, I recommend that you do. A stunning testament to British design and engineering and an iconic aircraft from a bygone era. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly and helpful and are a credit to the organisation that maintain this superb aircraft. Worth every penny, but I would suggest you do the Premium Tour which has a smaller number in the group.

Had a great morning. Not rushed at all - a very informative guide and a walk around an iconic aircraft that was very interesting. You can not deny the passion that these people have for this aircraft - and it shows in the displays and the overall feeling you get there. Well worth a visit.

I booked one of the VIP tour's for a more personal tour of XH558.Upon arrival we were met by the tour staff who along with a cup of tea and biscuits told us a little about the history. The VIP tours have a maximum of 7 people per group, today there were only 6 in total so being as there were three guides we all split into pairs. Our guide John was well versed in the history and background of XH558 and we learnt a lot from is knowledge. The personal tour lasted approx 90 minutes with a further 30 mins to be able to go around by ourselves in the areas that you are allowed in, great opportunity there for taking photos.Overall a great experience and well worth the money spent, an experience I nor my Mrs will ever forget.

A really enjoyable afternoon, exceeded my expectations. We had a very informative talk first, then about an hour to look round the Vulcan, and there were several very knowledgeable people on hand to answer questions. There was no rush, plenty of room, and although there were 30+ visitors present, I felt as if I was the only one.

Really no need to say more, because everything was spot on. If you're not a Vulcan enthusiast when you arrive you will be when you leave!

one of the best trips I have had in years, four of us including a former Vulcan navigator ( now in his mid eighties) enjoyed the VIP tour around the mighty Vulcan. Guide ,Dean, was a mine of information and whilst the tour was scheduled for two hours we overstayed with no pressure. If you like planes this is the place to be,if you are a Vulcan fan....you will kick yourself if you never come.Great value for money, but then beautiful big ladies always are.
