Fabulous setting, parking can be problematic (watch out for permit only resident areas), we tend to either get the Metro in and out or the ferry from South Shields across and walk up. Can spen hours looking through the bric a brac and books, i think i must of filled one shelf of my bookshelf on recent visits, every third Saturday of the month is a farmers market, even when that is not on there are lots of food stalls - try the macaroons, loads of different flavours and very tasty. When you have had enough of shopping, lots of places locally for a beer or coffee.

We live locally but this is a treat to visit on a Saturday or Sunday. Start at Porters the wonderful coffee shop for a delicious breakfast. Then have a stroll around the wonderful antiques and bric a brac market. It's fantastic ❤️❤️❤️

We have been visiting for some years and find this to be a excellent market. A great range of craft and general traders and some very good food retailers. Easy to get a snack and all under cover in a beautiful restored station.

This is a great market for a mooch about. It's covered so the weather is less of an issue. The stalls range from vintage, craft and bric-à-brac to food and produce. The market is dog-friendly and we'll set out. There's something for everyone and well worth a visit.

I love this place. I visit with my family and often alone most weekends. Luck of the draw with the stalls, and what is for sale. But over the years I have purchased some fantastic things. From crafts, antiques, old books and new! Great for present buying, you can find something unique, unusual, and very special. I spend a few hours walking around a few times, taking it all in. Bantering with the stall keepers and hunting for a bargain. Prices often reduce around 3pm or can be haggled down as stalls start closing down for the day.The food stalls are varied and mixed. Not many most weeks. But a delight to buy farm sausages, cakes and pies. Great near Xmas time. Or buy a quick lunch.Fruit and veg stalls are of great quality and very reasonable. Parking is a problem. But I prefer to walk in from a short distance where parking is free and plentiful. The Metro station is in the heart of the market, so easy access from disembarkation. Toilets cost 20p in the market, very grotty, but hey.. serve the need! No others in the area.Problem for disabled or people with buggies. No lifts. So to cross the lovely old wooden bridge that crosses the Metro, that separates both sides of the Market. You have some steep steps. Or have to physically lift the buggy up and down the stairs. Failing that, a 10 min walk back outside the station, back to the road to the east side of the Station..to the other entrance.Do visit, you will not be disappointed! Young or old!

on our recent first trip to this market (situated at the metro station). We were pleasantly surprised to find such a variety of hand crafted goods. Very friendly and helpful stall holders. No chance of going hungry with a good variety of fresh food on offer. You can easily wile away 2 - 3 hours. Also its not far from the coast and the nearby Tynemouth Priory.

I always enjoy a trip to Tynemouth market and always manage to pick up something quirky. There are so many unique stalls filled with beautiful, homemade, unique crafts. I particularly love It Seems Sew Shabby Chic, they sell an array of homemade goodies, including cushions and bunting, and the mother and daughter selling the items are so friendly. I also love The Spoon Man, he makes unique gifts out of old cutlery and can create a unique message for you! The cupcake stands are always enjoyable too. There is a total mix of stalls; bric-à-brac, crafts, plants, animal treats, antiques, vintage and then to be honest, a few junk stalls. I find everything to be reasonably priced, especially if you're buying a unique home crafted item. The market is indoors and free so it makes a really great place to visit anytime of year. And of course you're two minutes from Tynemouth Main Street where there are tons of cafes. Finally a short walk from the gorgeous Coastline. Ample parking around too!

Open all weekend, its a great place to dig out a bargain.Find something different from the same old stuff that seems to be in most of the shops.I love the old cutlery fashioned into everyday items, and the plants are good quality.When its a farmers market weekend its even better with a bigger choice of hot food ( third Saturday of the month ) The fruit n veg is well priced.There's always lots of folk there so go early to get the pick of the best.

Great way to spend a Sunday, Tynemouth market lots to see rummaging through the brick a brack looking for a bargain, there's plenty to eat some great pubs for lunch in town. Good day out.

I have lived in Tynemouth my whole life and have grown up with this market. It used to be more of a good & chattels for sale type of place but recently has become and place for local business to trade and they have some excellent offerings. You can buy furnishing for the house, bespoke jewellery and art, photographs, books, music and food. You will need cash and it does disappear quickly whilst you are wondering around. A visit to the sweet stall is a must if you don't buy anything. Well worth a visit

Tynemouth market is open every weekend from 9am to 4pm! In Tynemouth market you'll find yourself surrounded by bargain hunters in one of the busiest markets in the north east. Tynemouth market is a great way to enjoy your weekend looking around and finding your self a great Bargain!

We love this local flea market in Tynemouth which is held in Tynemouth Station. It is on pretty much every week ( I think it is closed the two weeks on the run up to Christmas,but you'd have to check that out on the website)We go and avoid trying to buy any more vintage collectables, but always succumb and buy something !This market has something for everyone.Atmosphere and buzz, vintage clothing/collectables, books, food, jewellery, vinyl, handmade craft items, second hand goodies, photographs &postcards.It is pretty crowded by 10.00 am but in a sense this adds to the atmosphere and pleasure of shopping in this market, it is as good as it gets, you'd be hard pressed to find a better market.

Love this market set in a Victorian railway station. Recently refurbished it is a very impressive setting. The market is packed with interesting stalls and there is always a bargain to be found. There is a great cafe in the station. The food is excellent and reasonably priced. Well worth a visit if you are in the locality.

Tynemouth Market is a lovely way to spend a Saturday or Sunday morning. It offers a wide range of stalls from little nic naks, books to antiques. The lovely town of Tynemouth is a few minutes walk away with local attractions such as the Tynemouth Abbey and a wide variety of coffee shops, bars and restaurants.Tynemouth Metro Station itself is worth seeing as it has recently been refurbished and makes a great home for the Market. Being on the Metro line means you can also hop on the Metro and travel to Newcastle. The Market also plays host to monthly Famers Markets and regular Book Fairs.

We live about a mile away and we really enjoy spending a lazy Saturday or Sunday going to a walk to tynemouth and around the market. The stalls are always varied with some really friendly regulars and some outstanding local crafts. Well worth a trip.
