Went with my Grandson. The centre is easy to find and there is ample parking. I had booked and paid,£11,online for 1 1/2 hrs of climbing. We arrived at reception and all was in order. You can use climbing shoes which are available or use trainers. He was in a group of around 7 other children. After some running around to warm up he was off climbing. While he was climbing I watched from the café which does nice coffee and snacks sensible prices. He really enjoyed it and will go back again.

My partner is scared of heights and wanted to conquer her fear. She booked us in for a taster session which was delivered by a lovely chap called Phil. He showed us all the basics and was really reassuring, but still allowed us to push ourselves. We've never been climbing before but managed to get some great experience and managed to complete a grade 5 climb which was great. I felt very confident and secure - in safe hands! The place is absolutely amazing - its an old church in the outskirts of Manchester which apparently received an English Heritage grant to turn it into the climbing centre. The space is amazing and there are some seriously high walls. It was a busy Saturday and there was more than enough wall space to not have to queue. A really great afternoon out and good to learn new skills too! One hours training with all the equipment and 1-2-2 instruction and locker hire. All in for £18pp. Highly recommend!

A brilliant venue. An old church converted into a multi-walled climbing centre. For beginners all the way to advanced climbers.Prices are reasonable and the challenges are excellent. The cafe serves snacks and drinks.I come here quite a lot, a great place to hang out.

It's always a pleasure to visit this climbing centre. The staff is friendly and the routes are well set, with good variety and range of difficulty. Would highly recommend a visit if you are into climbing.

Went for taster session at the climbing centre with 3 friends.Really fun day out for all four off us. More than enough time to try and scale the walls, then you get free time to go round alone. Great day out.

I read about the Climbing Centre in Manchester in a magazine and decided to pop in for a taster session. The people behind the centre have made a brilliant effort to convert an old church into a wall-climbing & bouldering facility. There are separate male and female changing rooms and a small cafe with viewing platform to watch the climbers. In my case, £30 covered equipment, 1-to-1 tuition and a sixty-minute session to get used to the basics of climbing. I was even given extra time at the end to do my own thing in the bouldering zones. The tuition itself was great - thanks to my instructor for an enjoyable taster session. I will definitely be back, next time to try out the three-week beginner's course. There was a birthday party on at the same time, with kids eager to get to grips with the climbing. So, it's obvious that it is a great venue to try out a new sport for those wanting a bit of a workout or with an adrenaline rush. All ages and any previous experience welcome.Could I find any faults? Space was at a premium, especially with a dozen or more hyper children running around the mezzanine by the reception desk. You can't blame the staff for that though. The tables in the cafe were a bit dirty as well, but what am I saying? You're not there for haute cuisine and fine dining, you're there to do climbing, and it's something they do very well indeed. Thanks guys!

Love this place for climbing, having fun with friends and there is a real sense of community. The staff know their stuff and are really helpful if needed.

Great centre, helpful staff, safe and fun climbing to be had.I'd like to see routes changed more often than once every 3-4months but aside from that I'd take friends there any time!

Plenty of routes and climbing challenges are provided, staff are very helpful, and there's a good cafe. Highly Recommended.

great bouldering, shoe hire if you don't have climbing shoes. Easy to get to from anywhere in Manchester. Good health and safety.
