Go see Founders Hall: a magnificent Victorian era building. The rest of the campus is nice as well although the buildings are utilitarian in architecture.

If you don't expect it, the sight of a huge chateau will stun you. Built by Thomas Holloway who also built Holloway Sanetorium and Holloway Prison and who has a road in London named after him, it is an architectural wonder. Built as a woman's college, one of its former students was Emily Davidson who stopped the Kings horse in the Epsom Derby.

Gorgeous campus filled with friendly people!Crosslands (inside the founders building) serve great pizza. The hub serves a variety of international dishes. Imagine (under the hub) is a great creative hang out with access to Starbucks and bubble tea!

Its worth popping in to look at the Royal Holloway building at the top of Egham Hill. Its a beatiful building styled in brick. Well worth a look.

Went to pick up my son from his semester abroad. Could smell the oddness of this school. There are many better choices for abroad schools. Not much to do in the nearby localities. Average academics. Not much for the buck.

A university with a difference it was the first university for females in the country when it was built, now it is one of the better comprehensive universities in Europe! Combine the old with the modern and what do you get a brilliant place to work and study, ask anybody who works has worked or studied in the place and they will tell you the same thing - its a privilege to both visit and see and for those who actually stay there it's even better! A true international college with students from all walks of life and many different countries who get on together magnificently, a brilliant window for the world to look through and see how we should all relate to our fellow humans no matter who or where from - I'd recommend it to any one for a look at least - you will then probably fall in love with the place and wish to make it your home - if only for a short time, to some that can be achieved but for most I'm afraid not, all we can do is look and admire!

Everyone should see this stunning building. I go to university here and is still amazed every day I come to school.

Visited the Collegep in order to help on the freshers registration weekend therefore with 1800 newbies plus mums and dads it was mega busy however no one could fail to be impressed by the magnificent Founders building. Speaking to one of the international students from Hong Kong she summed it up with the phrase " I feel privileged to be here". Brilliant place and a real asset to the locality bringing a vibrant young population to this corner of Surrey.

We had a really good tour of Holloway College on Heritage Day. I have lived in the area for many years but have only ever visited The Picture Gallery for a wedding so it was interesting to explore this magnificent building. We paid £2 to go in The Picture Gallery which was narrower than I remembered. We had a good tour of it but it would have been good to have a bit more info about all the paintings. Some had it but not all.The free tour of the college was very interesting. We had an introductory talk in the chapel by our guide, Richard Williams. He was really knowledgeable and made it amusing and interesting There was a lot I had not known. The chapel was really lovely. We then visited the North and South Quads, the Dining Room and saw were the student quarters are. We then had time to wander round on our own. Next time I would like to visit the Library. There were refreshments and a small selection of souvenirs for purchase.

The central Founders building is an excellently maintained example of period architecture and is not even spoilt overly by all the students who periodically return.

Absolutely stunning architecture. As you drive passed, you cannot help but turn the car, park and go explore. It has lots of interesting history and you can buy a history book in the bookshop to tell you how/ when/ who started it. It also has lovely quaint botanical garden and it's ideal for a little walk.

This is the second year that we have held our conference at the Royal Holloway and I have to admit that it wasnt as good as last time. Unfortunately, the first night the Hub wasnt open for dinner which was a disappointment so we had to eat out. The following morning there was a lot of confusion as some of our party were sent to the extremely nice dining room in the Founders building for breakfast, where my colleagues and I were sent to the basement of the hub. We queued for a long time on the stairs just to enter the basement. The food that was actually available was OK but when I reached the first hot food station I was offered one mushroom (that was all that was left), and beans, there was nothing else there. The next buffet station had bacon and sausage and nothing else, although we were informed that more food would be coming in around six minutes.. The conference was held in the boiler room and the view of the presentations, slides and the accoustics were much better than those in the Art Gallery, although the walls were definitely in need of decoration.The lunch was basic sandwiches, fresh veg and dips and fish goujons in batter but in the evening we had a BBQ and the food offered there was excellent.Dinner the second morning was in the founders building for all of us and it was very good.The accommodation is basic, this is not a hotel so there is no hairdryer, TV, clock, etc, but coffee and tea are available in the kitchen, and apart from an extremely disgusting slip up on the cleaning front in one of my colleague's rooms, the rest of the rooms we found spotless.All in all it was a good conference and I would recommend a visit to see the beautiful buildings and grounds with their wildlife.

Check in advance to visit the amazing picture gallery and campus. Amazing architecture and great location.

Lovely green campus, in which spectacular Victorian architecture blends seamlessly with more modern buildings. The educational and sporting facilities are excellent. With a bank branch, a small grocery store and several places to eat and relax, the campus has just about everything a student requires. To top it off, the woodlands on campus are quite delightful - great for a leisurely stroll.

This is an amazing site as you drive the A30. Built by Thomas Holloway (he pioneered advertising in medicine)for women to go to University (unheard of in those days). It is modelled on the Chateau of Chambord in the Loire Valley. Stunning. Part of the University of London now. There are open days and it is well worth a visit.
