This was the venue for our summer ball and I have to say that it was just beautiful! There were a range of food options available out door and there were several bars across the premises. I would love to visit again.

There is a one hour tour of the Old Hall, every hour starting at 11:00am. It provides a very thorough and historically accurate description of the role of the estate and it's residents up to the accession of Elizabeth I. Very well worth £3. Unlike 'Ann' I thought the cafe was very good. It was pricy, but the quality of food and the layout was excellent.I also liked the Marquess of Salisbury's yellow trousers.

Beautiful house, Tudor Palace, gardens and parkland, Bloody Hollow and rare breeds to entertain the children. A lovely place to spend a summer's day, relax and walk. Good toilet facilities and parking is convenient, disabled parking but don't know if there are other disabled facilities. A few nice shops around a central area and a soulless miserable cafe, disappointing and expensive food. Take a picnic.

The Hatfield House is one of my favorite places we visited in England. It was beautiful and there were so many things to see, just roaming the house and grounds. I enjoyed strolling through the gardens and imagining I lived there. It was all lovely and appeared more like a home than many of the other old palaces we visited.

This is definitely worth a visit. Often used as a venue for concerts or local events but the architecture and grounds are simply stunning. If you are in the area step back in history and if the weather allows take a picnic to enjoy the grounds as well

Great farmer's market on the first Saturday of the month. Local produce at reasonable prices. The award winning venison pies are worth looking out for.

Went to an Elizabethan Banquet in the old palace. The event was very well organised from start to finish. The Hall was beautifully decorated for Christmas, the waiting staff were efficient, the food reasonably good and the themed show during the meal highly entertaining (although let down by the weak and at times barely audible sound system which really needs to be improved). Have been several times over the last twenty years and have always enjoyed these events and at £60.00 pp for food, wine and an evenings entertainment I don't think for a memorable experience in such an historic setting its too bad value for money either.

We visited this beautiful historic Jacobean house on a hot August day and boy did we have a great time. We took a picnic and im glad we did as the restaurant was so full that peeps were having to wait eons for a seat. There are great shops all selling high standard merchandise with of course an historic theme. We visited the small farm and a fantastic model soldier exhibition before we ventured into the main house. We opted for a tour which we found gave us all we needed re info regardi g a general intro to the house and contents. The paintings are of historic value with the Eliza eth the first ones being tbe best by far. There is something for everyone here...old kitchens...suits of armour ...beautiful rooms in all manner of styles and of course the world famouse Old Palace that was part of Princess Elizabeths original house where she was held prisoner by her Father Henry V111.The landscaped gardens are a delight with fountains and covered walkways giving plenty of shade on hot days.It is expensive to get in but there is plenty of parking or if you use the train it is suitably east to get too as Hatfield Rail Station is but 2 mins from the foot entrance..just 40 mins from Kings Cross London. One last thing..the tiny village of Old Hatfield and its fine old church and old pubs are worth visiting and watch out for the modern Catholic church which is also of interest.

Visited the Stable Yard Shops partly in response to marketing campaign which shows lovely shop interiors and items for sale. First impressions are great; this is a really lovely setting. However, the shop merchandise is not top quality and displayed in a very cluttered fashion. They just haven't got this right for their intended clientele. Take a look at any National Trust gift shop and compare and you'll see how they've missed the mark. They also need to train the young staff in the cafe - we were served by a surly teenager who didn't appear to have 'please' or 'thank you' in her vocabulary. We aren't in a hurry to return. Pity.

Didn't even get in as a result of (in my opinion) poor organisation. Well advertised so they must have expected people, but signage that it was full poor until after you had travelled and then queued (in our case for close to an hour) only to be turned around by Police metres from the entrance. Terrible organisation!

Queued for over an hour to get from the A1(M) to parking at the house for no apparent reason other than everyone had to go single file into the carpark. Serious lack of thought gone into how to get people in. Please sort this out for next year as once we got into the event and got over the journey we had a good time, there were loads of stalls and fun things on offer. I also found a beautiful bridal shop up some steps off the main courtyard, its like walking into a fairytale!

We went out for the day to Hatfield House. I remember going when I was in Primary School - but it is now a couple of decades later so I thought it was about time I get back and check the house out!We went as a family, and had a lovely day. The house itself was beautiful, really amazing architecture, paintings and carving in the building itself. But one of the highlights were the volunteers that work for the house. Usually I don't ask questions, but some of the workers were more proactive and told us about the paintings and the different pieces within the house. We learned some really amazing facts and also got to understand more of the subtle elements of paintings etc.The gardens were equally beautiful, the house was promoting an exhibition of sculptures which we really enjoyed browsing = it should be a regular or even permanent fixture because it really added to the day!We would definitely come back again one day, it was a lovely day out which we all thoroughly enjoyed.
