Very well set out, interesting clear information and volunteers who talk with enthusiasm about the village and its history. As an ex teacher I can see they have made it a great place for youngsters.

As we entered the museum we were greeted by a member of staff who chatted with us and made us feel very welcome. The museum itself is small but is full of stories about the locals of Combe Martin and the surrounding area. The photographs were fascinating and I appreciated the attempts to include children in an interactive way. I read that 80% of their collection is still in storage and I would love to hear that they have found a way of displaying more. Worth a visit!

Small, compact and full of useful and historical information. They had a very good second hand book shelf for those who enjoy reading!

We had a great look around this lovely museum and learnt lots about Combe Martin. The staff were very jolly. The exhibition on the First World War was brilliant.

Still welcoming and smiley at this venue. They are pleased with their Great War exhibition. One feels the insularity - almost as if one is intruding. The area remembers its fallen during 1914-1918, in various ways. Ilfracombe and this village have offered up one or two events to mark the start of World War 1. Ilfracombe has done it more publicly, with a names wall in our park. Combe Martin museum is as good as ever , it is good value, and distinctly local. Perhaps there are disabled workers or various ethnicities we didn't see. It feels almost too perfect and I can never quite relax. Also try Barnstaple and Exeter for a wider relevance , and larger exhibitions.

We visited this museum in the Tourist Information Office more to fill time than anything - but found it very interesting. If you have time - do pop in - there's lots of local history as well as what's been washed-up on the beach. Bigger than it looks and worth a visit!

Love it but I am a volunteer here so am a bit biased.Something for all age groups and everyone who visits is amazed about how much there is to learn about the village.

I recently visited Combe Martin and found myself joining in a seashore safari with the museum. We all had a brief in the museum and then headed off to the beach armed with buckets and nets to see what we could find. We wandered around looking in the rock pools and saw a variety of wildlife which the museum staff identified for us. It's a great way to spend a couple of hours and is educational too. They give you a printed card to help you identify the things you see and have extra material for young children.

did not visit inside the museum as had the dog with us but they run a second hand book store outside which is tremendous value at 50p a book and provide a dog water dish

Good to spend a few minutes in the museum finding out about the local history and how things were in times gone by?Lovely people running it and they are happy to share their knowledge with everyone who shows an interest, go on, pop in and you may well be pleasantly suprised?!

Do you employ disabled people at Combe Martin Museum? Nice Museum, as we 've already said here. Lots of history, and the staff are welcoming. However we saw no diversity among the staff in this homegenous town. The Museum is staffed by local senior citizens, a couple of younsters, and by community prominente. The Museum does not apparently represent society or diversity among its staff among whom we have seen no disabilities, no varying ethicity, nor various age representations in two years. Minorities should be given a chance to shine, and what is wrong with disabled people ? Don't you employ them?Very surprising and also disappointing, in this day and age.
