Spent the day before Mothering Sunday to celebrate the day here with my daughter as it is almost exactly halfway between our homes in Kent and Norfolk . Have visited several time before but never in early spring but was not disappointed as there was so much early flowers and blossom and beautiful foliage still left on grasses and dead heads on perennials. We had coffee in the cafe -good but service painfully slow and lunch in the barn where as always the food and service was very good. Only one gripe - it was difficult to find cutlery in the dispensers in the barn which were acceptably clean - some had come through washing process with dried on residue and all were extremely smeary.

i have now visited in every season always a pleasure we had lunch in cafe at entrance jacket potato with cheese it comes with a really nice side salad also do proper coffee . the shop is quite nice if a little expensive but they have the loganberry jam there which i can not find in supermarkets this days worth going if just for that

Visited for the first time in many years and amazed at the transformation of the eating and shopping areas which were all good. Pleased to see though that the gardens themselves were still as beautiful. Will not leave it so long to return next time.

Nice place to unwind and walk in lovely gardens then go for a delicious home cooked meal in the Barn restaurant.
