I was planning to swim in this well known heated pool to be told that it was closed for the month of JANUARY. What a shame and certainly not their gain. Never mind I found the nearest best spa............at no cost.

We went here for the day with the little one, entry was more expensive than most swimming baths but we'll worth the money, the pool is heated with a shallow paddling pool and waterfall, plenty of seats for spectators and you can take your own food and drinks in with also, great day out especially in the summer

You simply have to try this place...suitable for all ages, great fun, so different to anything we had ever done before. Spotless, great value, great fun a must if in the area (and great fish and chips locally for afterwards!)

I used to live in stonehaven and loved the open air pool, so when I visited recently, knowing how things change and rarely fro the better, i was prepared for a bit of a disappointment. Not at all. Other than some new bouncy toys, it hasn't changed. It's a bright colourful piece of art deco, beautifully cared for and looked after (and, seriously, the people who look after it, give yourselves a pat on the back, you deserve it). The water is clean and warm, the slide is simple and great fun, and I felt like I was 12.By the way, i took my mum, she's in her 70's and loved it as well.Loved it it, shame it can only get 5 stars

The open air pool is a great thing to do whether you are visiting 'Stoney' or live locally. Not only is it good value for money it gives you a retro feel to how these sort of outdoor pools would have looked up and down the country generations ago. Great for all ages

This is one not to be missed- its a fantastic pool with sea water at just the right temperature..........great day out and very good price for a family- you can spend the entire day at this place and either take a tasty picnic or eat from the cafe on site - at realistic prices and good quality food...

I used to come here as a child when I came to stay with my Gran in Inverbervie. The open-air pool has never lost its charm for me.I'm not as brave as I was for going down the big slide, although I see it's still a big hit with the younger visitors. On this visit (I came twice over the weekend), it would seem that it's recently had a much-needed makeover/freshen-up, looking loved again after a period of being in need of a little TLC. Water was also lovely and warm this time round.I hope to spend many more summer days here, and hope the same for future generations to come. It would be a very, very sad day indeed if this place had to close.

Having lived in the area for almost 3 years, we felt guilty at never having visited the pool. Last Friday afternoon we put that to right and had a great swim. The outside temperature was a bleak early autumn day, but the pool is truly tropical sea water. It is a truly bizarre but pleasant experience. The pool is substantial, and I kept having flashbacks to what pools were like long ago when I was a boy. The only downside for swimming lengths is the shallow end is very shallow, but that's what makes it a family pool. The changing area is basic but clean, but some soap dispensers in the showers would add some convenience. The pool is maintained and renovated by volunteers in the off season, and the standard is a credit to them. I intend to be a more frequent visitor next season.Keep it up!

Warm water but cold wind made this a truly open air experience. Loads of lifeguards on duty for a pool of this size (comforting when you're there with two increasingly water confident little brats).Clean warm changing rooms. Reasonably priced. All good. Will be back.

Huge pool, lovely and warm, a great experience and well worth visiting if you are in the area. The changing facilities aren't exactly world class, but they are clean and spacious. Plenty of parking around but you might still find it tricky to get a space as the pool is very popular.

Delighted you enjoyed your visits and hope to see you back soon. And yes, dated.....but then the Pool is 80 years old!

Sorry you found the swoopee inflatable slow-going; as you no doubt saw, the kids queue up to get their shot and on busy days the queue can be long. And apologies that your wee one had to do the swim test twice - inevitably, lifeguards can be distracted by other things happening in the pool. Hope you'll be back and have less time to wait next time!

That's really disappointing that toilets and changing rooms were not clean on the day you visited. It would be useful for us to know what date (and ideally also time of day) this happened if you don't mind contacting us through our website www.stonehavenopenairpool.co.uk or Facebook page (Stonehaven Heated Open Air Pool) to let us know. Should this happen again, we would hope you would bring it to the attention of the Duty Officer who would be able to take action at the time.

We're delighted you enjoyed the Pool and hope to see you back before long. Our day tickets are also valid all day - so you can nip out to the play park, beachfront café or chippie and then come back in for more swimming time - just remember to keep your till receipt as that's your ticket. Of course on the busiest days, it's possible we may need to restrict numbers if the Pool is at capacity (one out, one in at those times) but with such a big pool, there's usually space for everyone.
