We visited the restaurant on a Sunday in February and enjoyed an excellent lunch I would recommend booking a table in advance as it is obviously a popular venue Super lunch and excellent value

A superb location for a family event. Excellent food, great service and a wonderful set of surroundings

My daughter wanted to treat me to an early Mother's Day so we went to the Cafe at 12:00. We had already checked the menu online so were most surprised to see that it bore no resemblance to what was actually on offer both from the 2 / 3 course options and Cafe Lights Menus. My Gruyere and Leek Tart looked and tasted magnificent for the first bite. Alas the tart was cold in the middle so it was returned. My daughter had finished her main course when my replacement finally arrived some 20 minutes later. Only one part was hot, the rest was tepid, if that. The texture was rather mushy as if the item perhaps had come from the freezer and reheated? I ate it but felt queasy. I was informed that I wouldn't be charged for it. The cafe was very busy but we had been overlooked and had to ask for the sweet menu. My pear pastry was tasty but had the texture of being microwaved. My daughter's chocolate tart was tiny with what looked like a swirl of ganache on top and another smear of ganache on the plate. Sorry, it looked less than appetising because of the colour.I came home and double checked the menu. It is not what we were offered today. All in all the food is indeed very tasty but something clearly went wrong in the kitchen today.

We love this place as one of our children was married there some time ago and they were brilliant.We were able to go for lunch recently and the standard hasn't dropped. The food, service, atmosphere was first class and we enjoyed a lovely lunch, beautifully prepared and served by people who obviously know their craft.Hope it's not too long before we are able to go back again.

Lunch at Art House every couple of months. Normally use the lunch special menu and very satisfied. Modern style cooking well presented. Today however we all went "off piste" and chose a la carte. Pork fillet, beef, salmon salad selected. Edible but well short of what we expected. Only my pud off the lunch menu gave me a little bit of satisfaction. Though to be fair house white was nice. My advice stick to the set lunch menu good value and less likely to be disappointed.

Dear MaryFN,We take any alleged food poisoning claim extremely seriously and this review comes as a complete surprise. We have checked back on our files and nothing has been reported by yourself or any of the parties in question to any of the team or management in the House. Additionally no other diners over the festive period, including the day in question, whom also had the turkey have reported anything to ourselves here at the house. I can assure you that we do have robust procedures in place for such incidents. We have very high levels of hygiene and all our team are trained food handlers.May I suggest it could have been something else eaten by the person in question, either earlier or later in the day depending on the onset - as we don't have the details we unfortunately can't help or advise in this regard.As you state in your review you have had a number of good lunches here and hopefully this won't detract from you returning.
