Over the years I've trained here for 10k's. Great flat surface and you can easily workout what distance you've covered.Always dog walkers and other folks there just walking around the loch. Lovely views of Mains Castle and surrounding farmland to one side of the road and town dwellings on the other.Gracies on The Loch is a lovely cafe with friendly staff for after your walk.Loads different birds to spot too from common corws & sparrows to ducks, swans and even the odd heron.

Lovely park with area for children. It's a small loch so very easy to walk round, probably takes me 15 mins so good for people looking for a short walk. We usually walk round about 4 times so you are not walking any longer than you are able. It's also a favorite with dog walkers which is fine, however, there are always inconsiderate owners who do not lift their dogs dirt which is shocking considering the park is used by families. A small cafe is in situ.

We visit here regularly when across in the west of Scotland. It's a lovely park with lots of activities in the summer months. Our grandchildren love to feed the ducks, swans and Canada Geese and it's a great walk around the loch. I wish I lived nearer as it's quite flat and picturesque and I think I would be tempted to take more exercise! The only downside is the play park is very small and the toilet facilities are closed all winter.

This park is very basic. It has a little play area for young children and on the other side, they have the massice wheel swing. Older kids would probably enjoy.I love taking my minded kids here as they enjoy feeding the ducks and the swans. Its also a nice walk, very quiet during weekdays ( morning) and it has a nice coffee shop where you can warm yourself for a nice mocha after a walk. Great for family, but it could get very busy in the summer and school holidays. Plenty of parking space, but not during peak times.

I run down there often to photograph birds etc. Access can be got to the Bird Hide. Mains Castle can be viewed from the path. Many folk use the path round the Loch for exercise at all levels. Water sports take place as well. Car parking is adequate but sadly the Cafe is closed pro tem. A pleasant place marred by peripheral litter in the trees and bushes and bereavement tokens which look out of place in a leisure setting.

I visit this loch at least 3 times a week. It was man made and was about the last thing the East Kilbride Development Corporation did before it was wound up. It is a great asset to the area. It was NOT there 40 years ago. The body refered to in an earlier comment went in this winter and was found a few days later. An elderly man. The walk is flat and the path follows the small loch all the way round. The cafe is good and a welcome warm rest on a cold day.During the water sport season the loch is checked daily.Swans breed here and there is lots of different ducks and water fowl. Children often bring food for the birds.

This is a place for all people and is well utilised by locals and visitors alike. It is ideal for young children, elderly, power walkers, runners and children on bikes, skateboards, in-line skates, scooters etc. the cafe serves lovely lunches and coffee and has an outdoor area for sunny days with a view over the loch with plenty to watch in the bird life and water activities. There are plenty picnic benches and seats all the way round so that elderly or disabled people can utilise the area. I think the Council could utilise the area more by adding a cycle path all the way round where adults could cycle. The upkeep of this facility could be better as the loch is overgrown with weeds round the edges and could do with being dredged more often and litter bins are insufficient on hot summer days. It is an excellent free facility and a perfect length for a wee walk or to go round it several times for the keen jiggers.

Easy place to have a walk as it's all on level ground. Lots of local people having their daily walk as it's one mile to go around so plenty of people doing their fitness regime. Why does everyone walk counter clockwise Lol! The local council stopped people putting memorials to their deceased loved ones on trees etc as it was becoming like a graveyard and depressing to see all that. It's all right now that's all gone. Nice playpark for the little ones and coffee shop for the grownups.

My hubby and I have been visiting this Park since it opened on a weekly basis and mostly found it to be a pleasant walk although recently it was becoming more like a cemetery which was putting us off going but after a few letters to the relevant people we have noticed that a lot of the memorialisation has been removed and we have been assured that no more will be added. On the whole this area is normally well kept and a nice relaxing place to visit.

This place was excellent when first built, but it might as well have a ski slope for the speed it has deteriorated! I do not want to moan on here as it still has many good points but park cleanliness is not one!!!!!Ok here we go:1. Dogs must be on a lead - this does not happen and no one ever enforces it, even when reported?2. Take jogging shows with you - as you will have to jump over the number of birds droppings on the far side of the park - never blasted or cleaned EVER!3. EVERY bench and EVERY tree is a monument to a deceased? The park (or council) has gone mad! - We have many lovely cemeteries built for the grieving process, this is over the top!On the good side - yes there is one or two: They have upgraded the kids area with fresh bark - oh goody! And they do have a café - that's all I can say about that - its a café (and no more)! If you clean your own tables to have a seat then its a nice view over the loch.

Smallish park but has everything. Children's play area, watersports, jogging or walking round the loch on level path. Fairly decent cafe for a snack or meal.

The Loch is lovely but too many memorial plaques it is almost like a cemetary. They do take away from the beauty of the loch.

I haven't been in a few months but when I do go I really enjoy myself. The loch and surroundings are clean and the staff working there are friendly ☺ lots of swans and ducks which you are allowed to feed which is nice bumper boats and kayaks are there for people to go on . It's good fun.
