Clydebank Museum and Art Gallery is a wee gem...includes a permanent exhibition with the story of the Singer Sewing Machine Plant (now Clydebank Business Park), hosts permanent and visiting Art Exhibitions in the Courtyard Gallery, which is built on the site of the old Turkish Baths. A small memorial to historical Clydebank Activist Jane Rae is in the Garden Area, accessed from the gallery. Light refreshments available in the museum cafe which is really nice, overlooked by the statue of Mercury which used to be atop the Town Hall Clock Tower until the great gale of 1967 he now supervises the cafe...A lovely wee gallery, well worth a visit... more than one!

the building has had a lot of money spent on it, The venue is now popular place for weddings and functions. During a visit I enquired about the old pool and was offered the chance for a quick look. For health and safety reasons I was only able to stand in the doorway. WHAT AN AMAZING SITE apart for a couple of old doors the place was as it was I'm sure when the doors officially closed for the last time. no water in the pool but still a wonderful site to see . THIS NEEDS TO EITHER BE REOPENED As a tour attraction or even as a private swimming club. WDC get your thinking caps on

this is a great tourist attraction, beautiful building with regular exhibitions. shows exhibits of old clydebank, like singer sewing machines and boats built on clyde. The tearoom is spotlessly clean with a good healthy menu at reasonable prices.

This is a real gem. Wonderful displays of transport including the Schooner on the river. Beautifully set out too!

Very friendly and informative staff who went out of their way to be helpful. I would especially like to thank the young man in the gift shop who was very knowledgeable and helpful not only about what was on display but also what was available in the collections. I had expected to see a greater number of singer sewing machines on display so was disappointed that it was so limited. Still worth a visit.

Only covered a small area but had interesting exhibits on the Singer sewing machine factory and Clydebank's ship building heritage.

Just had a visit to this today, well worth a look and free of charge and disabled friendly, It is open Monday to Saturday 10am to 4.30pm and has a shop and Cafe. There are permanent exhibitions of local art work, Scottish colourists, ship building as well as the Singers factory, model ships and a large display of sewing machines including the last one made in the factory in 1980.There is a section for temporary exhibitions and at the moment it features the photography work of Harry Papadopoulous, "What Presence" is the name of it, what a great unexpected blast from the past as it features off the cuff pictures of the bands from the 80's, brought back some great memories of the music I was into at the time, not the cheesy stuff but the more obscure and dark stuff, lol. After this the curator then walked us through the Large hall and Lesser hall, newly decorated and very impressive then into the old Hall Street Police jail cells that I did not know where still there! some of these have been converted into changing rooms for the theatre, all in all a great place to pay a visit and that's not even mentioning the architecture of the building and the Library next door, fantastic!!

Following word of mouth recommendation I met a friend here for lunch. Pleasantly surprised by modern interior and clean and smart little cafe. Simple food served by an exceptionally polite young man. JoLoMo exhibition was amazing. A wonderful collection in one place. But Clydebank's influential history not forgotten with exhibition of shipbuilding and Singers! Do visit!!!

Didn't even know about this place until a couple of weeks ago, and managed to catch the last day of the Jolomo exhibition. It was fantastic, ideally laid out apart from the very narrow gallery which was permanently jammed with people trying to angle themselves in front of pictures on both sides. The other rooms were great though (oh apart from one unfortunately positioned chair where an old lady plumped herself blocking everyone's view of one of the paintings) and I will definitely keep my eyes peeled for any future exhibitions at this lovely intimate venue.

Very interesting museum with lots to see and easy to move around. Enjoyed by all of us who attended will be well worth another visit when there is no time constraint due to other things planned for the day.

its good but depends on what exhibition is on at the time. JOLOMO, artist until 16/09/13 is great, amazing use of colour. slight problem as a lot of pictures are in the corridor so you are too close to them. they have the second largest collection of sowing machines in the world but only 12 on view! free of charge and great staff. free to park beside it.like the titan crane, just along the road, its very poorly advertised yet so easy to get to by bus and train.COME ON CLYDEBANK, YOU HAVE TWO GOOD ATTRACTIONS, ADVERTISE THEM

I would thoroughly recommend this Exhibition. Jolomo's work is outstanding, much is thought provoking especially the East Park Home work, The landscapes easily take you there. This exhibition certainly complements the new gallery within Clydebank Town Hall. The staff came accross as knowledgable caring and friendly, the cafe has a nice selection of teas coffees and snacks. Also great to see the more permanent displays and photographs relating to Singers and John Browns.. An excellent Free Exhibition.

Enjoyed this very much. Staff very helpful. Display area for more recent work is quite narrow but wasn't a great problem. DVD and early work especially at East Park showed a wide body of work over his career.

I went for a quick look with my work to see the Jolomo exhibition, it is fabulous. The museum looks amazing, its so fresh and new. It must have had a lot of money spent on it. Very modern and up to date. There is also a cafe which looks good and a small shop. I never had time to use it so can't comment on food etc but it looked good. Will definately go for another visit and spend more time looking at the exhibits. From the outside it looks the same but the revamp is amazing.

Went to see the Jolomo exhibition on Sat. 13 July and we were very pleasantly surprised. This is a lovely building which could easily be passed by from the outside; the inside is lovely and modern and the Jolomo exhibition was very interesting.Staff were very helpful and friendly and parking nearby was easy. The cafe is also very nice with lovely comfy seating.
