Visited donaghadee harbour on recent visit from England to relive childhood memories, its never changed and that is the beauty of here, quiet fishing village, beautiful and quiet, spend many a sunday afternoon here as a child and is my favourite place in northern Ireland, just wish that it was a hot day and maybe could have bought some dulse off the harbour wall, still could buy some in the local shops but its not the same as crispy dulse I remember as a child.

Visited Donaghadee town and harbour for family history reasons but I'm so glad we did. This relatively unchanged, quaint coastal town is quintessential Ireland. Weather was warm and sunny and waters clear during our visit so there was much fun and activity on the sandy beaches with swimmers and yachts in the water and many people along Shore St. On these clear days you can see across to the Scotland mainland but watch out as we found out after coming out from a local cafe from having lunch, when conditions are right, the mystical fog is known to just roll in for a completely different experience. We found the locals very friendly and helpful. If staying in town (we stayed at Pier 36) everything to see and do is within walking distance and convenient. The lighthouse is a prominent feature for great photo ops. The Moat on the hill is easy to climb up to with fantastic views across the harbour and town - great for those panoramic shots. Souvenirs are best at the small RNLI Donaghadee lifeboat station shop along the harbour with proceeds going to this organisation but volunteers man the shop so open hours may vary. Really enjoyed our stay and hope we get another chance to visit.

Took my 2 nieces from England to the park they had a great time playing, plus in the water, the sand is great they had sandcastles built before the tide came in, plenty of places to eat, and great ice cream stores. Toilets are across the road from the park.

Donaghadee harbour is one of the best places to walk on the East coast. It is flat with a beautiful working lighthouse at the far end, with a modern children's play area and delightful home made ice-cream shops available. If your feeling energetic, head for the castle monument which is climbable for a vivid landscape of the harbour.Decent warden toilets available opposite the play area.

The harbour is beautiful and as the weather was good as well we did a lot of walking. We travelled to Newcastle which is a lovely seaside town with the Mountains of Mourn sweeping down to the sea.

The walk along the pier gives many very scenic views. The lighthouse is particularly attractive, as is the view of the town of Donaghadee.

What a place to bring the grandchildren. Food outlets and centre of town just a road crossing away with public toilets a few steps more . Plenty of seating and a recently redesigned Playpark make this a great choice for parents and grandparents to entertain the kids Great shops and a pound shop for all the usual buckets and spades, fishing nets etc will be back again and again the kids love it

The lighthouse, the harbour, the large tidal range, the boats, all these combine with the pastel coloured houses to make this a timeless view.

A great little walk along the harbour to the lighthouse. Great views and fresh air. A great outing which can be followed by a meal in the many restaurants and cafés close by.

This place has remained the same since I was a wee girl (apart from the paddling pool). On a sunny day its a lovely location and nice to sit with a bag of chips and watch the waves and the boats moving around.
