My family and I came to the little fishing town of Ardglass on our Ireland golf trip. Definitely one of the best courses we've played. Tee off over cliffs and crags, and hopefully catch a good weather day. After hours we even snuck back on to the rocks on the edge of the course and cast some fishing lines into the Irish sea. Some incredible memories in a quaint little fishing town in Northern Ireland.

I'm fortunate enough to be part of a 16 man American golf group that is hosted every 4th year by 16 fun-loving Irishmen. Ardglass is always one of the great highlights of our golf trips to Northern Ireland. We've played Ardglass in all kinds of weather and it's always been great fun.I'd say Ardglass is truly a hidden gem. Bring your camera and be prepared for some super vistas....and some big laughs! We Americans always struggle managing the bump and run shots that are such a key to course management at Ardglass.........something our Irish hosts seem to have mastered. This always makes good apres-golf conversations over several Guinness in the Ardglass pub and restaurant. I should also mention the food and service is first class at this restaurant.Ardglass is only 50 minutes (30 miles) from Belfast and 30 minutes from Royal County Down. Be sure Ardglass is part of your trip itinerary for some super seaside golf.

A great Old school links course with a castle acting as the clubhouse. The course plays hard and fast and the wind is definitely a factor. A great view from every hole. Bring a range finder or a GPS that works in N. Ireland or play with a local. Great deals on golfnow.com played weekday for 20 GPB.

We had a marvelous day in almost 80 Degree F weather with almost no wind in late September. This course is not to be believed with its historically old clubhouse to the fantastic views and vistas surrounding the very challenging golf course. The staff were extremely accommodating and the after golf dinner was terrific. Great spuds.

Ardglass is a delight second only to Royal County Down some ten miles away. The history, the beautiful location on the sea, and typical friendly Irish staff will make your day! Our experience of playing this spectacular layout will get your attention from first to eighteenth hole. The canyons between the tee to green on the front nine will leave you with a big smile as you walk the course. The pro shop staff and restaurant servers will make your day as well. The clubhouse and grounds house amazing history and make you appreciate those who came before you. Go to Ardglass and see for yourself!Ray Wood

This course was a joy to play. In immaculate condition with fantastic views. Greens superb. Overall a great visit.

This course is the Pebble Beach of Ireland. The course is well maintained, has fantastic views, and is challenging.Maybe they could use a few more next tee signs but other then that I enjoyed my round at Ardglass. If you are looking for a quaint B&B drive 9 miles north to the Cuan in Strangford.

Ardglass is classed as a links but is a bit of a mixed bag with some stunning clifftop holes especially the first three and the superb run of holes around 11 -14. There aren't really classic dunes more clumps of gorse and nice sand based fairways. The weaker holes run up and down meadow like sections of the course. The strong holes being those with the stunning views including some of the best par threes you will ever encounter. Pebble beach does come to mind. Could be better signed from greens to tees and is a little expensive but will take the open fairways card. Worth a visit.

There are some nice views at Ardglass Golf because it's by the Irish Sea with an outlook to the Isle of Man but … as a golf course it's rather poorly kept. Sorry … but in Ontario this would be considered a farmer's cow pasture and the cost would reflect that … in Northern Ireland it's just an old golf course! Sure the par 3's are rather nice … overlooking the Sea but the greens? Let me say the holes are rather confusing … you need to ask a local either behind you or in front of you to point out the green you're supposed to be hitting to … can you spell frustrating. It's better than some links courses since it is hard to lose your ball … but that's hardly a recommendation.

Wonderful links style course with breathtaking vistas. We arrived a bit early and were able to tee off early. A bit hard to figure out where the course takes you as the course is being reworked. We followed the lads in front of us to find our way. But the course and the views were top notch.

I really enjoyed playing at Ardglass. Every hole is different and the views are spectacular. You needed to think your way round especially on 11th! The welcome was warm, the Guiness excellent and tghe food was fantastic - all locally sourced. If you are on a golfing tour of NI - do not miss this. Easy to see why it was voted links course of the year for 2011.

and the golf is fun too. We had a young caddie who added value to our round. The views are really amazing along with this very historical building that houses the clubhouse - they say it is the oldest building to house a clubhouse. Nothing great inside, but it makes for great photos.

Often links courses are by the sea but you can't see more than the horizon. This is different. You are high enough to have wonderful views. There is a mix of stunning holes and more gentle holes when you can get your breath back. It's not flat but not too hilly and you don't feel beaten up at the end of it. Highly recommended.

Played with my dad at Ardglass last week after a humbling round at Royal County Down the previous day. Ardglass is an unpretentious gem that is fun to play with unbelievable views along the way. I thought the course was a reasonable value at around $85 US dollars. The course is fairly short but that just adds to the fun. As a recent reviewer noted there are some bland holes, but there are others that are fantastic and you can't believe the views. After grinding through rounds at some of the famous, championship courses in Ireland, it was a pleasure to play Ardglass. The castle/clubhouse just adds to the experience. We found the members to be welcoming, and we would definitely include Ardglass on a future trip to the area.

a group of 12 of us played the course on friday apr 20th. Other than an early hail shower, the weather on the day was bright and sunny. - perfect golf weather. The views from the course are excellent. However, the course is very short, with many bland holes. All of us agreed that the green fee charged of stg£47 was nothing short of a rip off. stg£25 would have been acceptable for this level of course.
