Even before visiting Cetatea Neamtului I knew it was an impressive place from pictures I had seen. However, upon arriving there, I was amazed by how imposing it is. For a 14th century building, it is unbelievable how well built it is and how strong it kept over the years. Additionally, it is newly reconditioned, so that it is a pleasure to visit it. Visiting it offers a great insight into medieval culture and the Moldavian Middle Ages. It is by no means an easily forgettable place and one that most people would find worth visiting. The entrance fees are low and another attraction is that in order to get to the hilltop where the citadel is located, you walk for about 10 minutes through a forest, which adds to the charm of the location. Finally, a great view over the nearby fields and hills is a great way to celebrate making it to the top of the citadel.Definitely worth visiting!

An old stone fortress situated in the neighbourhood of Targu Neamt,a little moldavian town. The fortress was built in the late 14th century and was renewed a few years ago as a museum. To reach it you have to climb a pretty steep slope but it worth the effort.Once you get there you have an beautiful view of the entire area as long as the fortress is situated in a vantage point.

This fortress was brought to good condition a few years ago so now it looks great! If you're in the Neamt area, it's a must see! There's a 45 minutes hike up the hill, but once you're up there's a view for the entire valley.

One of the oldest towns of the Principality of Moldavia. A historical site and tourist to be seen during a visit in Targu Neamt. Access to the city is easy and there is parking on the hill fortress. The fortress was restored a few years ago. Fortress rises proudly above the area and offers a beautiful view.

I liked the suroundings, the bridge that takes you to the fortress, the resemblance of the chambers and the use of them. And from up there you have a breathtaking view.

Neamt fortress or Cetatea Neamt is a medieval style fortress in Targu Neamt town in Moldavia, a region in Romania. It was raised by prince Peter I in 1395. It was also used by prince Steven the Great, another famous prince of Moldovia. It is a 10 minute walk from the parking lot, through a forest, in heart of nature. The fortress resisted the attacks of the Ottoman Empire, in 1475-76 and the Poland Kingdom, in 1691. It`s a good place where you can find more about Moldavia`s history.

This is definitely a place to visit every year because there is a lot of information about the history of Moldova and about one of the leaders named Stefan (Stephen) the Great, who build 40 convents, one for each winning battle he had.The restoration is beautiful, the present of the "old times" is there for sure! The view from the top is beyond amazing! you can see all the surroundings.I highly recommend this place to visit! you won't regret it!

The castle is very interesting but you need to plan to see this whole area in one day to really enjoy at your own pace. A beautiful castle, well preserved and maintained. lovely grounds and a nice view to the town and the main attraction.

One of the most interesting places in Targu Neamt is Cetatea Neamt. It was renovated recently and looks very well. The entrance fee is very small. There is an aditional fee for photos. There are 53 stairs to the castle and a road of about 500 meters - done only by foot. Inside the castle you can find many interesting objects and information about the history of the area.
